Jennifer Garner at the Juno Premiere
Get The Look
Last week we told everyone how we
were loving Jen Garner at the Los Angeles Premiere of her latest flick - Juno (which we hear is amazing, btw)...and after confirming our main man,
Paul Starr was the mastermind behind this fabulously sweet but edgy look - the response for a Get the Look breakdown was overwhelming! And so, we called upon Mr. Starr to get all the inside details behind the look. He was more than happy to share his step-by-step for all of you - and here it is:
Paul was inspired by Jennifer's strapless Gucci number. He loved the graphic quality of the minidress she wore. He wanted to incorporate that edginess into her look...particularly leaving the focus on Jen's gorgeous eyes and really making them pop.
THE PREP:
Paul first prepped Jen's face with a sheer application of
Dermalogica Active Moist, "a lightweight, oil-free lotion for daily moisture protection to help smooth and improve the skin's texture." He followed with
Chanel Hydramax + Serum - Intense Moisture Boost to completely hydrate her skin.
THE FACE:
Paul applied a very small amount of concealer just where she needed it, “which wasn’t much.” He uses a concealer palette by Kryolan called
Dermacolor Mini Concealer Palette. He says, "Kryolan Concealer palettes are often difficult to find...you have to be 'in the know' to find them, but they are the best.” Paul then applied a bronzer tint to Jen's cheeks. He used
Chanel Brillance Pur - Sheer Brilliance. This product is great as a highlighter on the cheek bone. It picks up the light and gives skin a beautiful dewy glow. It is not too heavy - just a light highlight...he didn't want too much color on her face.
THE BROWS:
Paul groomed her brows and then defined them using an
Anastasia Brow Pencil. He wanted to keep Garner's brows defined, but not too heavy or dark, in order to keep the focus on her strong eyes.
THE EYES:
To create Jennifer's graphic smoky eye, Paul lined the upper eye using
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, in Black. Then he used
Chanel Le Crayon Khol - Intense Eye Pencil in black and lined the inner eye. Using a
Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow palette, Starr mixed, “a deep purple and a silver shade all over the liner and blended it with a q-tip, smudging it all along the lash line and out to the corners of her eyes. He then smudged a charcoal grey shadow with the same deep purple on the lower lid. He finished her eyes with two coats of
Chanel Inimitable Multi-Dimensionnel Mascara in Black on the top and bottom lashes.
THE LIPS:
To offset her eyes, Paul went with a subtle lip color, choosing a
Giorgio Armani Sheer Lipstick in #2, a peachy sheer formula, which played off of her dramatic eyes nicely.
