And actresses need to stop being continuously asked about fashion at such inappropriate times. Yeah, we're on a fashion forum right now, but we have other interests!
That's ridiculous. I don't understand why journalists, when faced with these incredible actresses, only ask about what their wearing. These same journalists are the ones that write about female inequality in the industry when they are perpetuating that idea. That's what bothers me the most. There's a time and a place for these questions. The red carpet, for example. Don't effing ask an actress who she's wearing and what beauty secrets she can share after she's just won an incredible award for acting. In that moment, the least you can do is respect and acknowledge them as actors, not clothes horses. It's like Carey Mulligan said after she dealt with a similar thing:
"I was at a press conference and Woody Harrelson was answering questions in front of me and they were asking him what his motivation was, and how he felt about his character. I got up there, and they said, “What are you wearing?” And I thought, “There was a time when I was an actress. Not just someone who wore dresses.”
Oh, I agree with you that her attitude was bad as I stated in my previous post, I was just focusing on the questions about fashion. Maybe she didn't want to be there? Maybe she was annoyed that she lost? She simply didn't look like she wanted to be there. And she had quite a reason for that, to be honest. Her diva behavior was far from what anyone would've expected, especially the way she treated Amy who, unlike her, dealt with all the stupid and out of place questions with true class. And you can't say it was just because of the fashion questions, she did get a "real" one at the end and how did she react? By swearing. A huge disappointment.
I did love her dress though.
She wasn't disappointed she lost, watch her reaction when Lupita's name is called. You can even see her in the audience cheering Lupita and calling out "woooos" when she first takes the podium.
I rewatched the video and I'm still trying to find the moment she was rude to Amy, can someone please tell me when that happens because again the only thing I'm seeing is when Jennifer gives her the floor to come up to the microphone and answer the question. That's not even remotely rude. She was smiling and laughing at Amy's jokes and they were both in on the "Where's Cooper?" thing at the end, Jennifer just took it too far by swearing. I think people are reading into this way too much.
She was incredibly abrupt in the way she told Amy to answer. I think Amy got annoyed after a bit and that's understandable.
That being said, I don't understand why Amy would get annoyed at getting the chance to dominate proceedings considering that she's now declining to talk about Jennifer because she doesn't like the headlines it creates for some odd reason.
I found the way she answered Amy in 2:05 particularly rude, first of all, I think it was disrespectful of her not to even pay attention to the questions that were asked and then when Amy told her to go ahead and tried to explain her what the question was about, she just interrupted her with a loud "no", and in combination with her face expression, I just didn't find that an appropriate behavior towards your older costar.
