Jennifer Lawrence

Did anybody read what she says about her dior experience in the article? What do you think about it? It sounds somewhat insincere to me

^For 15 millions I'd lie to Elle as well;) But maybe she really likes Dior, she just doesn't know how to wear it well?

she's never looked more Dior and high fashion than in her first season, with the dark hair. it really elevated her.

Jennifer Lawrence visits Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, today.

Just to add to this Lawrence/Dior thing, I mean it's apparent that she doesn't care and she doesn't seem to hide it well. In her Vogue article she even nonchalantly mentions how she had no idea Raf had left.

It seems to be just a business thing for her. I can see how people here would be offended, but IMO it's far more important that she care about visiting a children's hospital than that she care about what she's wearing. I mean, I really care about what I'm wearing, but it's not like that adds much value to the universe ... I get that.

It's so obviously written by a publicist. But it seems that Elle Malaysia couldn't get an actual interview with Lawrence, hence why the writer just sort of talks about her and then throws in a few various outside quotes from other publications. That whole "article" is jarring to read.

I really wonder how much longer this Dior contract is going to last...I mean, she's the biggest star in the world and the brand is so shaky at the moment that they're probably desperate to hang onto her for the time being. I think if the design team just doles out a few plain classic dresses for her during the interim between announcing creative directors (like a lot of Gaytten's work for the house back in 2011/2012) it might actually be a better and more flattering look for both her and the brand, as opposed to the endless awkwardly minimal/conceptual pieces she had to wear during Raf's tenure.

I agree with this completely. For her especially you just know that she isn't a fashion girl.

I just would rather she be true to herself and stop trying to deal with fashion. I do agree that visiting hospitals is far more important .

Though on here since fashion is almost art to us and has so much passion put into it, it just seems rude how she disregards a fashion piece especially since few people get to wear what she wears

^You'd give up 15 millions (rumored)?! Then you are far more incorruptable than me...

She has plenty of money making films.

So many celebs sign up for deals not really loving fashion. It's okay to not love it. If you hate being a walking billboard then don't put yourself through it.

But it's less to do with money and more about image. It's just the trajectory her team decided to go down. It's certainly not unusual even for the non-fashion plates. Rooney Mara, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain... They're all the face of something. I think Carey Mulligan is the only actress who isn't. And Shailene Woodley.

It's not like she can opt out of wearing clothes ... she has to do that. And she has to look more than presentable most of the time. So why not get paid for it? It would be a poor business decision not to.

I can't believe Dior pays the up and comers 15 million to wear their clothes. That depresses me!

I like her work as an actress a lot but today I was watching a movie with Shailene Woodley and thought she is a better actress than Jen... and then I realized why I thought that, it's because Shailene plays a lot of characters her age or closer, giving her performances a whole level of realness that Jen's seem to lack. Silver linings, American Hustle, Serena, Joy... those are roles that are maybe too old for her? I wish to see her in a serious movie where she acts her age, like in Winter's Bone :)

Lmao! I defended her in the thread for that magazine, but I'm afraid our honeymoon is over! My eyes have been opened. The excuse that she should care more about children's hospitals than fashion is of course earnest sounding and heartfelt (much like her campaign), but then I reckon why not abandon fashion altogether? I mean, it's not doing anything for her, is it? She's been at that invincible stage for easily the past three years now. She doesn't need to have fashion cred, so leave it for someone else who will certainly appreciate the Dior collab. The fact that she's so removed from the Dior drama, the preposterous suggestion of twinsies dresses....it all points to a severe lack of respect.
