one of the def reasons could be that they already have the releasing date for the movie which is only a year from now. with a younger actress it would be all seriously put under the question cus younger actors can only work 8 hours a day (3 of it being school). seems they wanted to make a right choice at any cost (cus rumors has it it will be done on a higher level then your average adaptation of a teen movie) and the casting took way too long than they imagined lasting and now they're basically in a hurry with no time to lose.
on another hand, Jennifer has amazing talent for transformation (which is her main strength among all the other girls of her age today in HW) so they got not only a talent but a real material that they'll be able to meddle with as long as possible and needed. not to mention that she will be, as it is already mentioned, backed by a bit older male actor (who can also work on set as much needed).
just my two cents.

^I definitely recommmend them. They're easy to read and the writing is not the best, but the story is quite intriguing. It took me a couple of attempts to get into it, but once I did...I couldn't put them down. I read all three in a week.

I'm just really hoping they do the film right. It's reassuring that Jennifer is a good actress, but now I hope they fill all the other roles with equally talented actors. I would to see Hunter Parrish as Peeta and Taylor Kitsch as Gale. Karl Urban as Haymitch. Kevin Spacey as President Snow. And Elle Fanning as Prim.

I'm kind of disappointed that she did a photoshoot like that.
She's a hot girl with a hot body, but I don't know....

Which was to avoid being typecast as the girl from Winter’s Bone. To come out with something to counteract the total non-sexual, woolen-cap-pulled-over-my-eyes look of the movie and open myself up to do more things.

But I like the All American Girl spread. It's cute and it fits her; however, it's also kind of boring.
I want to see her in a high-fashion ed to see what they do with her.

Around the 3:09 mark the reporter asks her what she plans on wearing to the Oscars and she says she'd like to wear the Golden Globes dress again (it was my favorite look of hers during awards season).

Not a fan of some of the lingere looks. She looks lovely with lighter makeup as her skin is so flawless. The pale cream Chole dress was a hit, imo.

I hope she doesnt go for a bunch of mainstream films now; another stand out indie performance would do her well to hone those stellar acting chops.
