Jennifer Lawrence

^totally agree!
I personally think its overreacting to call the reporters questions "insulting" !! I mean.. if you call THAT insulting you clearly were never insulted in real life..
I mean they're just doing their job and A LOT of magazines want to know about what they were wearing, their beautysecrets etc. and in the end of the day that's the information they will buy!
magazines like instyle, elle, glamour, teenvogue, people and a lot of others just don't care about the acting! and jennifer is long enough in this business to know that!! I think it's completely okay for her to not like this part of her job - but it still is a part of it!
and it's just really unprofessional of her to show everybody how much she's annoyed by it!
and btw. jennifer was asked NOT only questions about fashion! and her response with "what?! who are you talking to?!", or her saying to Amy "you take that!" and the way she got to the microphone, the cursing and the way she ended her answer.. idk to me it felt very rude and I got the impression she was very annoyed and did not want to be there at all!
there are platforms where those fashion questions don't matter! those roundtables for example, but she has to realize that doing press is and will be more about those -for her- uninteresing fashion questions.. and it's also the reason for her impressive paycheck I believe!!
I still like her and her direct way and not carrying for other peoples opinion - but there is a line between being direct and being rude.. so sry, but suck it up!

I'd find her bratty behaviour a little more understandable if she wasn't paid millions of dollars to do press tours. It's an annoying part of the job but everyone has annoying parts of their jobs yet the rest of us don't live in mansions and have Raf Simons on speed dial. Amy handled the whole thing with pure class.

THIS basically. I get she's annoyed, but given the money she makes, she can stand there and answer a few questions. It's certainly not the most annoying job requirement.

Jennifer needs to watch what shes doing. I love the girl, but this overthe topness she keeps doing over and over again.....people are getting sick of it. Shes got to give herself a break or something. Give the people a break, go away for a few months or something, because while shes americas sweetheart now its becoming repetitive and sickening

Still love her though, just saying it would probably be wise..

She disappears when she isn't promoting things and she just gave an interview where she said she wished that she could tone it down because she knows it's starting to get annoying. I think it's sad that she's starting to feel like she can't be herself.

It's just unfortunate for her that she's been dragged into Awards Season this year. Hopefully she won't star in any Oscar type films next year.

^yeah I guess the fact that shes been working a ton doesn't really help keep her out of the public eye. She shouldn't have to stop being herself, but I mean no matter how sweet the thing is, after seeing it over and over again it gets annoying :pink: So nice to know shes aware of it, so hopefully she can prevent it ;)

I think it's less that her personality is "annoying" and more that the way she is marketed is annoying. The media constantly pushes her as this "breath of fresh air" and most people have eaten it up. It's also interesting (and by interesting I mean completely sexist and disturbing) that blogs, articles, what have you, more often than not find it impossible to praise her for anything without putting other actresses down.

She is beyond overexposed, she's also overpraised. It's not her--I think she alone is fine, because I did like her--it's the way people have hopped on her as if she's the next best thing since hot pockets has gotten a bit tiresome. There are going to be people who are turned off by her personality, but it's another thing when it's basically impossible to escape her.

Jennifer has mentioned before she's aware she needs to work on her filter. Which means she should be self-aware to start working on it. And thinking before she speaks, having a little more maturity, and not automatically reacting to whatever is in front of her, won't do her harm. Yes, she would have to modify her personality a little bit, but only in so much that she would have remember her actions/inactions (because this is Hollywood) can reflect on an entire movie/cast.

If Jen didn't have a contract with Dior, I might give her a pass on the fashion question. Yes, many actresses choose to team up with fashion companies--but many don't/never do. Having a contract implies you have some interest in fashion. I don't think it was a question that the reporter should have asked, but Jen (or Amy) could have tied it back into the movie (since based on what I've read about AH, fashion is somewhat central to their characterization) as well.

Jennifer Lawrence to sign multimillion dollar Dior deal
“American Hustle” star Jennifer Lawrence is set to sign a multimillion dollar deal with Dior for a three-year partnership, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
The deal between the Hollywood star and the Paris fashion house is worth between $15 and $20 million, and the talks are being brokered through her agents at CAA, we’re told.

It's pretty easy to see why. She's getting paid a ridiculous amount of money and Dior gets to have the most famous young star out there associated with them. They're both getting bucket loads of money from this partnership.

I was being facetious, due to the fact that she looks terrible in their clothes majority of the time.

Jennifer, if you must make a deal with a fashion brand, at least find a brand that fits your personality. (I suppose by the time her contract ends, she'll have been on enough red carpets and worn enough constructed gowns to feel comfortable in Dior, but...)

Also, in light of her recent press conference, I hope Dior or somebody takes the time to ~educate~ her about fashion, cuz I had no sympathy for her faux pas there, and if she's getting another 15-20 to be Dior's face, then she better step her game, cuz saying 'I'm from Kentucky and I don't know anything about fashion' isn't going to fly. (Cuz seriously, she is rich as it is. If she really truly doesn't CARE, don't sign to be fashion brand name face.)

I don't know why Dior would want her. Sure, she wins the popularity contest but their is nothing inspirational about her, clothes and makeup wise. I doubt she motivates people, even younger women, to buy a bag or mascara from Dior, at least not enough to warrant the salary

I guess that in this case Dior is going for the overall publicity than she brings to the label and they´re content with just that. Not caring about targeting any specific demographic just that the name is out there.

A contract like this is not ironclad is it? can Dior drop her before the 3 years are up?

Guys, the source was Page Six. Take it with a grain of salt. Though it's telling that on the red carpet she speaks to how Dior always has gorgeous dresses and not an ounce of sarcasm, insincerity, or bullsh** is detected when she says those blanket statements. She must not see how bad Dior is...

koko, if this has any credibility to it, which it probably doesn't, yes, one can be dropped before their contractual ___-years.
