whether she has "100000000" dresses or not isnt' the issue... anyone would have deserved a sincere apology in this situation. it was the waiters fault, and i can't imagine it woulda felt good to have a piping hot liquidy/creamy substance spilled on you... no matter what the cost of what you're wearing.
I'm not famous and when I go out to eat I'm not wearing thousand dollar dressed but I'd be pissed a hell if a waiter dropped a piping hot spinach dip on me. I wouldn't expect for them to laught but rather apoligize a lot and comp my meal. It makes sense. I went there to eat dinner, not wear it.

not really. accidents still happen. Thats what makes it funny. I don't think mtv would agree to have hot liquid poured on jessica because it is a health liability. That stuff can burn you! Literally. It is not her fault
whether or not she gave her life to tv, doesnt justify being laughed at when being burned by "piping hot" anything. you all are jerks if you think that that is funny in normal circumstances.
If it was me I wouldnt have paid either. I also would have asked that they sincerely appologize. You would think an established place like Smith & Wollenskies would have had better customer service, especially for celebs. They should have offered to pay to dry clean/replace the dress as well.
