Okay...here are pics of the black Ramona. I am still deciding what to do with her... I LOVE the chocolate (re-posted pics here)...the black is not as luscious... So, not sure if I will have one or two for summer...

Yes I agree, I much prefer the chocolate. The black feels a bit 'flat' whereas the chocolate has much more depth and richness

Chocolate is for sure... Now debating on just chocolate or chocolate and black...

mmm personally I prefer the navy over the black (though to be fair I haven't seen the black IRL). It's almost too much black on such a big bag and like i said, i don't find it to be a very rich black whereas the navy has a bit more depth. I think for the money you could find a better allpurpose black bag Glad to hear you are keeping the chocolate though

BTW...a JC Ramona "weather report"...I carried chocolate Ramona in occasional, but somewhat heavy, rain in SF this weekend...did not "treat" her beforehand and she dried out perfect...

yeah I would echo those comments. Everyday I take my ramona out when it is bright and sunny and about 5 minutes into my walk to the train station it starts pissing it down and this has happened to me prob. 5 times at least (once today even) where my ramona has gotten soaked (the outside) and it's untreated, and it's still lookin' a treat

SoCal, I gonna agree, the black is not a very flattering colour for the Ramona - get the navy instead!

On another note, I just got my navy Ramona from JC..the leather is so buttery and luscious, I love it! The colour has a lot of depth too, it's so dark that sometimes it seems like black!

Black Ramona became an "official" member of my handbag rotation after much internal and web-based debate... It came down to this...I was wearing a jacket that cried out for a black bag today...Ramona was perfect...she then made her way out into the world...

Brilliant SoCal! As long as it works for you, thats whats important! Yes the navy is almost black at times which I love. It got pelted with rain AGAIN yesterday and I'm a bit sad to find there is a small tear on the leather on the bottom (undoubtedly from me accidentally wheeling over it in my chair at work) but considering how i sling it around, it's holding up beautifully!

So I just received the blk ramona i got on ebay (i waited a while)...it looks perfect- suede beige lining, purple jc nameplate and ribbon, hardware looks good. The only thing that concerns me is that the leather does not feel like the leather ive felt at stores on this bag. At saks this weekend, I was trying on the black one and it was so soft...this one feels more durable. Anyone know if jc made ramona with different leathers/ finishes?

If you purchased a black ramona for less than $1200 on ebay, it's most likely you got a fake. The fakes are using an inferior leather, and that would explain why it's not as supple. As far as I know, all the authentic ramonas are made with the same type of leather. Sorry!

I know a lot of you ladies are chloe fans but tell me about the ramona. I just ordered it in chocolate. Do you love it and what about the gold hardware?

The Ramona is my absolute favorite bag right now...my Chloe bags are now gathering dust... I have the Ramona in black and chocolate and would think about stone if it were still available (well, in theory at least). Love, love, love this bag...I did worry about the gold hardware initially as I wear white gold and platinum jewelry for the most part. The hardware is not actually "bright" gold and looks fine with my other "accents".

i love my ramona as well - i have it in navy and it carries so much and the leather is sooooo soft and the lining is just dreamy! i have alot of handheld bags and generally love big, slouchy bags and it's nice to have one bag that combines both my "wants" in a bag.. the gold hardware is noticeable, definitely, but doesn't really detract in any way from the bag, i think

I love the size and the slouchiness of this bag - it's perfect and can hold so much. The leather is so buttery and supple, my only grouse I guess is the the leather does scratch quite easily so a bit of care is needed.
