Her covers have been very weak lately. You've made it to the top girl, now put in excellent work to stay there.

She is so underrated and she is the model number one of the planet. I do not understand... :(

well, everyone knows why she is the number one model, but you're wrong(imo), she's not underrated, i would better say she is very limited as model.

that being said, I bet she has a lot of major stuff coming up;)

She is underrated like the model number one of the world, for me. ^_^ You remember when Raquel and Lara were the number one models? Many covers, many campaigns, many shows opened and closed :buzz: And now Joan? :judge: Is sad... :( but that's because she is not really the world's number one model

That cover is terrible, but I don't think there was anything she could do about it. The production, the lighting the styling, etc. It's all bad. That being said, I do think her earlier work was better than some of her current work. IMO most of it isn't as bad as some members in this thread make it seem , but she hasn't been living up to her potential, I must say.

There is no clear #1 model these days. It changes every couple of months. Arizona was hot for a few months, nabbing all those Vogue covers & then getting her EL contract. Then Joan started gaining momentum with her Fendi campaign & all her covers. Then Karlie signed her VS contract. Now Saskia is dominating. Joan just happened to get lucky at the time the #1 model was announced, because for a quick minute, she actually WAS the most in demand model. Lara, Raquel, Gemma & Daria were all the dominant girls during their time. Who is the dominate girl of this generation of models? No one.

Karlie Kloss.

No one? Karlie is just more successful, she is the next supermodel... nobody can deny that, it's reality. But hey... I have a gift for you :flower:

Karlie Kloss.

No she's not. Lanvin is the first HUGE campaign she's landed since Dior. If she was killing everyone, she'd be getting huge campaigns every season. I'm not hating on the girl, but I do think everyone is overplaying her success because of her screen time on the VSFS. Joan hasn't had the same amount of screen time, but her recent campaigns for Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Versace & Givenchy warranted her #1 ranking on MDC at the time. As of now, I would say that Saskia is the #1 model. Will that change in the next 6 months? Probably.

I don't think there is a supermodel out of this group of girls. Not that they aren't talented enough to be supermodels, but because the industry will not allow any of them to ever reach the status of Gisele or Naomi. I predict that neither Karlie or Joan will reach such heights.

Thanks for the gift.

I agree, Joan is definitely more High Fashion than Karlie. Karlie books ODLR, Donna Karen, VS, Juicy Couture, while Joan is booking Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Versace, Cavalli and Estee Lauder. Life would be over by the time Karlie gets a cosmetic contract. Karlie Kloss supermodel??? LMAO

However, I do miss Joan's early editorials, her work for Vogue in 2010 was amazing

P.S We really need to stop having these conversations every few weeks :P

^Campaigns are the JACKPOT at the end of all the fabulous editorials and covers. Plus she has a long-term beauty contract and the support of pretty much everyone who matters. Joan is untouchable at the moment, black girl or not.
