i think this time last year it wouldn't have benefited Joan to become an Angel. she still had a lot of high fashion things to conquer first to establish her credibility and longevity. but this past 12 months has really been incredible for her career. i think to add the status of being a VS Angel would be massive. i do think she'd have to be very careful in contract negotiations, though. she needs to maintain her high fashion pedigree.

but seriously - her and Karlie make such a great team and clearly VS loves them both. Karlie is already an Angel and Joan would make a great addition.

I think if VS really wanted to sign Joan they would book her more often. If they dangled a multi-million dollar contract in her face at any point in her career, I doubt she would have turned it down. Lets be honest though. VS is marketing towards teens right now. That's why "cute" girls like Behati, Karlie & Lily are taking over the brand. Joan would've fit in with the old-school supers like Gisele, Heidi & Tyra (the golden era of VS), but unfortunately that type of VS angel is long gone. It's OK though. Joan is destined to be an icon with or without VS.

No question that Joan is already an icon, but I think it will be both beneficial for VS and Joan if she was an Angel.

VS desperately needs colour in their Angel lineup and Joan's Mixed-Race heritage can appeal to more than one population.

Besides Joan's classic sophisticated look can appeal to the more mature and sophisticated consumer.

I think it's Win! Win!

I really hope IMG pushes hard and secures a contract for her! She deserves it!

^IDK. I'd rather Joan be remembered for having a career like Naomi's, where she conquers pretty much everything in HF & still is well known without having to go the VS route. VS girls usually lose a lot of HF work after they become angels, which is what I fear will happen with her. It kind of happened to Karolina when she became an angel, & it's happening to Karlie right now. I'll be happy if Joan can be a HF supermodel along with the fame, like Natalia V, Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy, etc.

I don't care about Naomi. Joan is her own person, she'll pave her own way. If anything I rather her career rival that of Gisele's.

Let's be real, that's not gonna happen. I don't think any of the top girls at the moment will have a career like the supers. Joan's best bet (along with Karlie) is to increase her presence and brand outside of modelling.
