Joan Smalls

Supermodel!!! I'm so happy! She looks phenomenal. Every year she never misses a beat.
And that Bold lip!!! It works on her. I don't think anyone else could of pulled it off!!!
Goddess!!

Wow she looks amazing, love the goddess gown and the hairdo and lip color are perfection.

2014 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

HATE the lipstick. it's ridiculous, there's no other word for it.

the colour of the dress is boring, but the detailing is beautiful. And her hair and skin are perfection. plus, as always, she's giving us great attitude and confidence. I adore Joan, but this is not a shining red carpet moment for her.

I love the lip. It actually made everything pop. The dress and shoes are a boring and it would've been even more forgettable with nude lips. The purple lip gave her a big boost. I wish she would've wore something on her neck though.

hair and makeup: 10
Dress and shoes: 5

I remember there was a time when I did not get Miss Joan. I really like her now. She gave me everything at the MET Ball, with, as someone else said, her confidence. Serve those poses, Miss Joan. She works damn hard, and the success she has received shows.

She looks fab. The hair and make-up was smart because the dress is a bit dull...

how do you go from Tom Ford to Vera Wang? major downgrade. which explains that drab bridesmaid dress that she was forced to wear. I have to agree that the lipstick is off even though I understand why she wore it to jazz up the look a little. The hair is perfect though, I really thought I was over the fishtail braid but she makes me love it again.

 To even be invited to the MET as any designer's date is an honor in itself. And this is Joan's fourth year attending. I wouldn't call it a downgrade at all.

I agree completely vallia!

There's no "downgrade". Tom Ford took Benedict Cumberbatch. lol. He didn't have ANY models with him.

And anyway, what difference does it make who she went with? She could have just as easily gone on her own and been her own damn muse, but Vera clearly asked her and she obliged and was probably quite honoured.

Exactly! How many girls didn't have a date? I could see if she was wearing Topshop (love Topshop btw lol). Just being invited is an honor.
