Let's be real, Dior Beauty doesn't come close to the prestige that is a multi-year Estée Lauder contract, as well as Joan's David Yurman campaigns and entire slew of other top bookings. Again, let's be real, Karlie was very smart to move to IMG, though she was no doubt Next's biggest proposition along with Arizona Muse. Flat out, Joan is with IMG and IMG makes superstars (previous #1s include Gemma, Lara, the list goes on). It came down to fractions of a point and Joan ended up on top, that's just how it is.

Karlie hasn't landed any major campaign since Dior Spring 2011. Joan has landed an EL contract, Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Givenchy, Stella & Cavalli campaigns all in just 5 seasons. Joan's career is way more blue chip than Karlie's. While Karlie is getting B-list campaigns like Juicy Couture & American Manhassett, Joan is busy getting A-list campaigns like Fendi, Givenchy & Mercedes Benz. That is why she's #1. Sure Karlie has more covers, but Joan is improving in that area. Give her time to prove it to you.
