Joan Smalls

Love the afterparty pics, they all look like there having so much fun. And she looks great at Balmain besides the MC Hammer pants.

omg, Rosary -- that second picture you posted from Balmain is incredible.

she literally looks like a Goddess of some sort. or like a Queen. Cleopatra-esque. truly regal and commanding. wow.

Ugh, Joan is so underused at EL. Constance is a sweet girl but I can literally see her thoughts through her nostrils in every ad. Its disgraceful that the #1 model in the world is playing second, or third, fiddle to a girl who should have never been signed in the first place. :ninja:

:shock::rofl:

Interesting fact: Constance has 28K twitter followers, Estee Lauder has 51K twitter followers, Joan has...120K twitter followers. She has 2X more followers than the company she represents, & they don't even know what to do with her! :lol:

I tell no lies. :lol:

That is an interesting fact that I'm all too familiar of. Without derailing Ms Smalls' thread, a certain fave of mine (who has much less clout than Joan) got the exact same treatment even though she proved herself, multiple times at the most important events of her contract, to be one of the most popular models for that brand among their target demographic. I guess some girls are just born the right color... :innocent:

Well I do know that people like Joan aren't EL's main target demographic, but do they not realize how much money black women spend on beauty products? Surely she could at least one OG campaign for EL. She also appeals to the latin community, which is another underrepresented demographic within EL.

She really needs to start trying to appeal to the latin community more. She'd be great on the cover of Latina magazine or maybe start working with MTV Latin America!

I agree, companies in general don't respect the buying power of black women, and even take it for granted sometimes.
Also, do you know when Joan's contract ends? I know she was signed late 2010, but that's all I know lol

I tried to edit my previous post but somehow the option isn't there anymore?

There's also a little section about her on the website :)

I think Joan signed a three year contract, so her's might be up by the end of this year? I'm not sure....
