They should walk shows still, doing runway has NEVER hurt a model's career, heck even someone as big as Gisele, or the "comeback" of Doutzen, Alessandra and Karolina while back doing runway brought/brings in hype. Karlie and Joan are big but not at that level, they can still do some runway but a bit more selective to other models of their heyday if they wanted. That would show the industry they can play and are accessible but with some terms, as time goes on tighten it up a bit more and more.
Right now to make better plays.... heck walk the Micheal Kors show for free, make an impact and snatch the campaign from Karmen, do these other "little" known houses a "favor" and build up even more prestige while you're on a roll. What do they have to lose? Unless they have a big project lined up I can understand but if you are free during fashion week, why not?
I somewhat agree with you, but chances are they're never just "free". Companies like Neiman Marcus, H&M & Saks are always asking Joan to shoot for them, & most catalogue work is shot in New York. Estee Lauder also likes to hog up their girls during NY fashion week. It's happened quite a few times already. I think the general consensus now is that NY & London fashion week aren't't as important as they once were for top models. Milan & Paris are the big ones. If Joan does all the big European shows & a few important American ones, I'll be happy. She doesn't have that many clients in New York, but she has quite a few in Milan & Paris (Gucci, Fendi, Chanel, etc).

It's on her instagram, but I can't find it anywhere else yet. Can anyone post it on here?
