Joan Smalls

i actually found the white alaia kind of tropical and refreshing but this last amfar givenchy number with the slicked back hair was kind of blah for me.

I know she's been working a lot... I'm just waiting for her work to come out.

And I don't mean to beat a decomposed horse to the ground, BUT where are her VOGUE COVERS man!!!

Ugh..! That gets me all upset!

Yeah I really wanna lose my mind so bad!

There was this rumor going around that this season's Givenchy campaign has all of Riccardo's faves in it. I don't remember where I heard it from, but I hope that's true, because Joan would definitely be in his fave category. Judging by her instagram it looks like she's worked with Mert & Marcus on more than one occasion recently. Fingers crossed that she has a major moment with them again. I've said before that I think she has the Dsquared2 campaign, & fashionlover thinks she has the Prabal Gurung campaign, plus she has EL & another True Religion collection coming out, so you're probably right, AyeBritt. She is going to overwhelm us in the next few months. I can't wait!!

I would also love to see her get the Tom Ford campaign (and a TF fragrance), Balmain again, & at least 3 Vogue covers by the end of the year. Something also tells me that a W cover with Mert & Marcus isn't too farfetched. :shifty:

^And she has the Joe Fresh Campaign with Karlie, Sean Opry and Andres Velencoso.
I guess that Brand really stepped up their budget this season.

I also have a feeling she'll nab another H&M campaign.

Plus... that South African Woolworth Campaign is due to come out....

And what ever happened with her own line of Lipsticks, in collaboration with Estée Lauder, that she announced?

I wonder when it'll officially come out...?

Egh…I'm kind of bummed to find out that the supermodel shoot was for Joe Fresh. Regardless, it's still a great thing to see Joan landing so many high paying jobs. She's kind of become like Isabeli Fontana in that regard (so many commercial campaigns each season, but still holding her own in HF).

Does anyone know if that OG ad she did for EL (the full body shot of her in that red gown) was a leak? It seems like we would've gotten HQs of that shot by now if it was supposed to have been released. I have a feeling that shot was for her lipstick collection. Hopefully it will be released very soon.

Oh...! She also shot something with Cass Bird. I'm pretty sure it's for a campaign.

And this might be MAJOR MAJOR News, you didn't hear it from me, so don't quote me on it, but i think she scored the Calvin Klein's Collection campaign.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Joan and Francisco Costa were spending lots of time together...

Don't quote me on it...!
But...It's a strong hunch.

They could just be friends, but I think it's exclusively related to Calvin Klein collaboration.

I saw some Big ads released on some bus stops in Paris.

Maybe it's just that we're probably not looking hard enough? Perhaps...?

Some of us are slacking on are stalking... Lets get it together guys!
We need some volunteers to hide behind bushes during photo shoots!!! :flower:  :ninja: #ibelieveinyou :winkiss:

We're less than a week out from the CFDA Awards—which is essentially the Oscars of fashion for American designers. Each year, the CFDA also produces a limited-edition "journal" which features imagery and short profiles on the nominees and honorees. This year, Pharrell is being honored with the Fashion Icon award. Unfortunately Pharrell couldn't make the shoot for the journal, because he was somewhere being iconically stylish, so the CFDA (with its creative partner Trey Laird of Laird + Partners) used model Joan Smalls as a stand-in. Smalls is styled wearing Pharrell signatures like the Adidas track jacket and Stan Smiths (this pair embellished with Swarovski crystals), plus a dead ringer for the now legendary Vivienne Westwood hat he made famous last year at the Grammys. "Pharrell Williams has made a style statement ever since he came on the music scene," CFDA CEO Steven Kolb says in an exclusive statement. "His interest in fashion is no secret to anyone and we couldn't think of a better person to honor with this award. Joan Smalls was able to perfectly embody Pharrell's style for the Journal." Creative director of the project, Trey Laird, had this to say: "We wanted to do something unexpected that captured the essence of Pharrells iconic style—but meshed with the attitude of the fashion world. Joan was the perfect person to bring this idea to life."
