From feathered underwear to quilted harlequin print—more is definitely more

With the closing of the 77th Cannes Film Festival and the end of star-powered press tours for movies like Challengers and Furiosa, you could be forgiven for thinking we’re in the midst of a fashion drought. But no fear: Jodie Turner-Smith has swept in to save the day.

Revving up for the season-one premiere of new Star Wars series The Acolyte, the actor has transformed her press tour into a catwalk. And while she may not be dressing the part of her character (at least, not as literally as stars like Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy were during the promotion of their own fantasy franchises), it’s still safe to say her looks have been otherworldly.

Teaming up with celebrity stylist duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, Turner-Smith started off her day in New York City on Monday wearing a baby-pink set from Shushu/Tong’s Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection. It consisted of a sweater tank top and a pair of matching underwear—with both pieces completely doused in fluttery feather boas. A black bow adorned the top, so the actor coordinated with matching accessories: sheer black tights, glossy black Mary Jane heels, a small black bag with silver grommets, and black sunglasses from Lanvin.

Afterward, Turner-Smith changed into another delightfully pastel ensemble: a mint-green set made up of an embroidered bolero and matching midi skirt, as well as a structured corset. Attached to the bolero were two nearly floor-sweeping black bows, one pinned to the front and the other to the back. She finished up the look with a tiny matching green bag, glittery black hand gloves, tortoiseshell cat-eye sunglasses, and gold pointed-toe mules.

For her third look of the day, Turner-Smith slipped into something a bit more comfortable—but just as showstopping. This was a pleated Balmain minidress covered in a rainbow splash of paint strokes.
