IS ONE OF THE TOP MODELS AT THE MOMENT, WITH 25 YEARS OLD THIS ENGLISH IS AT NUMBER 13 OF WORLD RANKING. HE WORKED FOR BRANDS SUCH AS GALLIANO, MOSCHINO, PAUL & JOE AND TOMMY HILFIGER JUST TO NAME A FEW OF HIS LATEST CAMPAIGNS. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THAT HE DOES A SHOOT FOR PULL & BEAR AND HE WAS ALSO PERFORMING WITH HIS BAND, JOSH BEECH & THE JOHNS, AT THE OPENING OF OUR STORE IN PLAZA DE LUGO (A CORUÑA). WE TALKED WITH JOSH BEECH ABOUT FASHION AND ESPECIALLY MUSIC, HIS GREAT PASSION.
How did you start as a model? I was scouted in East London a couple of years ago while I was at a festival.
In which campaign have you enjoyed the most? I really enjoyed the Tommy Hilfiger Loud campaign that was really fun and the last Pull and Bear job was jokes!!!!
Is not the first time you work for Pull & Bear, I think is the 4th shoot, what do you like more from the brand? I love it, mate, it’s awesome.
How was the last shoot? I read you ended in the middle of glasses broken and soaked… It was really fun and a good experience. Felt like a stuntman for the day.
Is there some photographer you didn’t work with and you’d love do it? David Lachapelle.
Music has been always your passion. What do you expect to get as musician? World domination ha ha ha.
Your first band Snish was more punk/rock style and now with your current band Josh Beech & the Johns is more melodramatic/pop style. What has it changed in your style towards making music? The songs are more real, more from the heart and I guess that what is in my heart maybe isn’t as heavy as some of the punk I listen to.
What does inspire you when you are writing a song? Life, everyday life.
What kinda of music do you listen to and how influences in your work? Everything from The Chariot to Bon Iver. I love music.
How do you combine both careers as musician and model? It can be hard sometimes but i love it. I feel like I am the luckiest dude in the world right now.
Do you enjoy lives or you prefer the studio work and compose songs? I love performing live, it’s when I feel most alive but studio is great cos you can create whatever you want in the studio and that excites me.
You just came back from NY. What the biggest difference that you could notice between the New York fashion scene and the London scene? To be honest they are pretty similar, the one thing I would say is that New Yorkers don’t give a f*ck as much as Londoners do.
What do you like more of living in London? My friends and my family are here and that is so important to me.
Is there some places you can recommend us? Your favourite club for example, or restaurants, parties, etc. I love the Swan and Mitre in Bromley, it’s where all my buds drink and loads of local bands play. Has a cool punk vibe. Nando’s is the best place to eat in the world!!!!
Do you see working in fashion as model for a long time? I will do it as long as I am having fun.
What’s your goal for a near future? World tour, albums, albums and more albums.
