Wolves ?
You know what ? As far as fashion trends often find their roots in emerging cultural movements of their time, these pics seem inspired by ideas originating in a book that was quite often cited around me recently (last year actually) : "
Women Who Run with the Wolves". It was written by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. She is a renowned psychotherapist, from the Jungian school of thought I guess.
The book is very easy to read. It didn't fascinate me to say the truth. But to my surprise, it did fascinate most if not all of the women who read it around me.
It is composed of a succession of tales, myths, legends, from a lot of places in the world, and their interpretation. It's a big book - the copy is in front of me right now, 763 pages...
The idea is that "
a healthy woman is much like a wolf", that most women have been cut from their genuine roots and that they must find again, to live full and healthy lives, preserved deep in themselves, the "
Wild Woman".
The very woman pictured here ? An emerging trend ? Who knows ?
