OMG! That's amazing news. I hope it bodes well for next year's award season, though I don't know when the film is being released and/or if it'll be overlooked by then. Anyhow she's deserves accolades. Indeed, too bad she wasn't there to receive the award in person.

Ahh that's awesome! I thought it'd be between Binoche and Moore considering they both played similar characters. It's interesting that they went for the bat **** crazy performance rather than the more nuanced one. Perhaps Moore's character was more realistic to them.

Funny you mention Binoche because she and Moore are the only actresses who have won the Best Actress "triple crown" (Cannes, Berlin & Venice). I honestly thought they'd finally give it to Marion Cotillard (or Anne Dorval) after being the favourite three years in a row! Maybe she's going to have to wait like Binoche did.

It's a shame she couldn't be there - it would've been a lovely moment. I suppose she didn't want to wait around not knowing if she was going to win or not.

Oh, and fashion-wise she had an amazing run.

Well Marion has her Oscar and Julianne doesn't so I don't feel too badly. Loving that Julianne won.
