Julianne Moore

Totally random and unexpected choice ! I really hope it's a custom made dress because there's not one single gown I'd like to see on Julianne from Karl's latest collections.

So i just finished watching Still Alice. OMG it's a really beautiful and powerful performance. She really does deserve all the awards. I teared up in parts. The film also isn't mediocre like some are saying. It's a well acted and interesting story. I really enjoyed it.

oh i would've loved to have seen it before tonight, but it's good to hear you say this! i hate when they give oscars just because an actress or actor is "due," even when another gave a stronger performance. but with all that said, julianne is also definitely "due." :P

wolkfolk.... eeeek chanel? please let this be a nice chanel!!! :o

please don't let it be that ugly pink gown from the last Couture.... oh god...

She looks beautiful at the Oscars:heart: That dress is exquisite and she looks so elegant and precious. If I were nominated for an Oscar I would want to wear a dress just like that. I doubt someone will top this dress for me tonight.

She looks nice but I expected her to wear a custom made Tom Ford gown, I'm surprised he didn't snatch her and ended up with Reese Witherspoon.

^ Smart move on Karl's part then. She's the lock winner and her gown will get the most press.

Hair and makeup are on point. Flawless really. The dress is terrible. It's boxy and it makes her look short. Really unflattering. She had a relatively great season otherwise. Too bad she decided to ruin it all on possibly the biggest night of her life. I mean, it might not be THAT bad, but it's just very disappointing considering what she could've done.

The Chanel is so meh. It's completely boring and forgettable. I feel like for the oscars, your wardrobe the whole awards season should build to this. But this was such an anti-climax. The recent sparkly green number would have been a better choice for tonight. But, I'm so glad she won. For Still Alice, and for a career of wonderful work.

agree with everyone: the dress was underwhelming. i would've loved to see her in the dress she wore to the globes here instead.

in any case, i am just very glad she won. what an incredible actress, with so many wonderful performances over the years! from safe, through end of the affair, magnolia, boogie nights, far from heaven, and even the kids are alright, she's just given her all to acting. i am looking forward to watching this film just for her (i wanna see her in map to the stars too).

Seriously, quite unflattering. I wish the second row of flowers was at her waist or something, to draw it in.

Congrats on the win, well deserved after an incredible career. :flower:

This gown was so underwhelming especially for an Oscar winner, I was more excited by the Dior she wore the night before.

The dress isn't great but she looked nice enough and I'm glad she won

When I heard she was wearing custom Chanel, I expected something a lot more crazier and when I saw this, I was very happy. It's not completely over the top but the beading is gorgeous.

I agree, and her hair really made her look her age. She should've gone for a bold color, like the one she wore for the golden globes. She looked amazing in that givenchy gown... this Chanel just washed her away

the hair didn't bother me; i thought she looked pretty - hair and makeup.
the dress was okay and a relief considering how bad some chanel has been lately. i really noticed how toned her arms are if anything. :P

here's her post-oscar press conference.
