JW Anderson S/S 2023 London

I liked it... I sensed some sort of opposites between something very fashion and just clothes. He really knows how to catch my attention in some ways, i cant really explain it

Are we still supposed to act like this is actual surrealism? Or that he is actually saying something with these clothes?

I am tired of people pretending this guy is something he is clearly not.
Surrealism is fun and cheeky like Schiaparelli, Prada and Thom Browne. This is just generic commercial crap styled weirdly so he can keep the suits happy, while having a seat at the "REAL FASHUN" table.

JW never ceases to amaze me with his unique ability to be both pretentious and mundane at the same time.

Add to that, the fact that these pieces, and most of his work in general, look like those TikTok challenges "Fashion shows be like.." LOL.

TIKTOK & TRENDZ

I can’t get behind this. At the end of the day, it’s just a series of jersey shirts and denim with random pieces but it will somehow be spun into some surrealist nonsense.

It’s all a bit too witless to try and pass it off as some “comment”.

Haha, you are hilarious. Totally agree.

I love those dresses resembling plastic bags with fish! His sense of humor is always on point!

It’s interesting…
My liking for the brand JWA and the work of JWA the man are totally detached from my hate for his runway shows lately.
I think through his runway shows, he has managed to elevate the perception of his brand towards something more mature, with depth and a real focused on making well made tangible clothes.

It’s been a couple of season where we get ridiculous propositions mixed with tshirts and leggings…Which is pity because I would rather see him work on what he actually sells like shirt dresses, knitwear and push it further than sending a chrome bubble and oversized tshirts.

Hopefully, Loewe will be more achieved.

I loved some of the bags, location was great. really liked this a lot

You guys love your hyperbole.

It's not that bad. It just isn't that good. It's not the end of the world.

I agree with everything @Lola071 said.

This, to me, is a non-event. May as well have not happened.

He should continue in the direction of his FW 2020 collection. That's still his best collection ever for his brand.

I'm okay with this. I'm seeing the good and bad in this collection. Strip down all the gimmicks there are some good pieces here.

I don't care for the chrome thing or the hanger's styling tricks.

I like the sparkling vest, with the evening gowns section also good. The dresses with the fish print are eye-catching. And the tops with jean neck detail are interesting. And good accessories. Those bags are great.

Jonathan is a perfect example of a healthy relationship between the suits and the creative director. When he is at Loewe, he has more resources and the bigger teams that allow him to express his creativity freely, but he has to answer to the suits so most of the time they help him to find the perfect balance between art and commerce.
With his brand despite having LVMH at stake, he is still the one who makes the final call and the team is much smaller.

But he always delivered at Loewe for me.
