Am I the only one who doesn't like Kaia's opening walks at Fendi and Moschino today? I felt like she moved her shoulders and head too much. It was a bit uncomfortable to watch and she kind of walked like Arizona Muse or Sasha P on speed but slightly better.
I studied her walk at Fendi, and I do think, that she's walking a tad bit too "quickly" and, in the process, taking too many steps. She's still very young, and will acquire, her signature walk, (it's developing; what's important, is that she has that confident runway demeanour).
At Wang, her walk was not that hurried. But watch the models who followed after her, at Fendi, their tempos were more relaxed (although some still carried that robotic staccato walk that's synonymous with catwalk modelling for the past decade, and I detest it, greatly).
Kaia, Maria Borges, Mayowa Nicholas, to name a few, are the models, that I like to watch on runaway, for a multitude of reasons, but chiefly, for their ability of having both rhythmic/confidence whilst sashaying down the catwalk - this heralds back to the 90s of the supermodels, which has been sorely missed.
IMO - Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse are two of the perpetrators of the robot like/staccato movements on the catwalk - I'm simply not amazed by either of them on the catwalk; there are others to name too - but these two stick out for me.
