Supermodel confirms rumors that she has signed with IMG Models

(NEW YORK) Karolina Kurkova has several reasons to celebrate. Last week, the 25-year-old supermodel revealed that she is expecting a child with fiance Archie Drury, and today, Kurkova has confirmed the rumor that she has signed with IMG Models and is no longer represented by DNA. "Karolina is a superb model and professional. We are looking forward to managing this bright young star," said Ivan Bart, senior vice president, managing director of IMG Models.
The native of Děčín, Czechoslovakia began her career in 1999, when after a friend sent her photo to an agency in Prague, she landed a print job. Kurkova then decamped to Milan, where she was promptly cast in all the major shows and signed an exclusive contract with Prada. After being featured in a fashion spread American Vogue, Kurkova moved to New York and became one of the youngest models to grace its cover in February 2001. She has consistently appeared on the runways of Valentino, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and many more, and she has been photographed by top photographers such as Steven Klein, Mario Testino and Mario Sorrenti for both advertising campaigns and editorial spreads. Kurkova was perhaps best known worldwide as a Victoria's Secret Angel. In 2007, she was placed 6th on the list of Forbes' highest-earning models.
A well-documented athlete and regular at New York Knicks games, the Tribeca resident continues to focus on modeling while launching her acting career. After starring in 2007's My Sexiest Year alongside Harvey Keitel and Amber Valetta, Kurkova is set to appear in this summer's upcoming blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra.
