(NEW YORK) Karolina Kurkova, Lauren Davis, and Margherita Missoni flooded the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar with friendly fashion faces Friday night to celebrate the new business venture of Edward O’Sullivan, the former senior global director of celebrity services at Polo Ralph Lauren. But what exactly is he doing? O’Sullivan said he plans to do some styling on his own, but with the Golden Globes less than a month away, he hinted that talk of him freelance consulting may be confirmed in the next two weeks—which would have him possibly working with one American house, one European house, and one young, up-and-coming designer. What's more, O'Sullivan is planning to form a fashion consulting division under the umbrella of the influential Full Picture public relations firm.
But enough with that. The evening started with a pre-party powwow featuring Kurkova, Davis, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Margherita and Jennifer Missoni, Genevieve Jones, and Full Picture publicist Nicole Esposito. Soon after, Fabiola Beracasa, Tina Chai, Thakoon Panichgul, Arden Wohl (who chatted with Lazaro Hernandez about the Proenza Schouler dress she wore to the Guggenheim Artist’s Ball the night before), Rachel Roy, Billy Daley, Issa designer Daniella Helayel, Laura Brown, Caroline Winberg, Sophie Dahl, Alexander Wang (who changed clothes halfway through the party), Keren Craig, Desiree Gruber, and Georgina Chapman—who was later joined by Harvey Weinstein after he took his daughters to the Z100 Jingle Ball—mixed into the scene, where talk ranged from the recent Art Basel in Miami (“I didn’t go, I’m already married,” quipped Damon Dash) to Davis’ impending spring nuptials. “It’ll be in Connecticut,” said the blonde, clad in a green wool Roland Mouret dress. “And I’ll likely wear custom Olivier Theyskens, although I really do love Givenchy.” Dressed in a slim-cut black YSL shirt and jeans, friends toasted O’Sullivan, who’s off to Barbados for the holidays, ‘til 3:00 a.m. “Someone wished me a happy birthday tonight,” he laughed. “And I was like, ‘It’s not my birthday!’ But I would like a Cartier Love bracelet for Christmas—either in yellow or white gold.”
