I don't necessarily think it's a "douche" magazine. It's just a magazine aimed at heterosexual men who don't really care to read magazines, or pay any attention to anything related to high-fashion. You read a quick article on some new tech gadget, ogle the pics of some half-naked semi-celebrity, and you're done.
That being said, what the hell can she do with that? If she's hoping to "cultivate and broaden Maxim's coverage of style and culture," then that sounds like an attempt to turn it into another GQ or Details. And the man who reads Maxim isn't the same man who reads GQ or Details, much less Elle and T.
I don't know. I just don't see any connection between her and Maxim at all. But I've seen weirder things, so cheers to her.
