High-fashion friends and cohorts Keegan Singh and Kate Lanphear might not be lovers, but they sure are the fashion world's cutest couple. Singh, who lives with jewelry designer boyfriend Eddie Borgo, is a freelance stylist and contributor to Vogue, V Man and Purple, and styled last season's Rock & Republic ad campaign starring Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld and Malgosia. With his signature wild mane of blue-black hair, skinny jeans and rock-star style, Singh describes his look as East Village meets French boy Parisian. His love of fashion (hello, Balmain and Rodarte!) and knack for ending up on the dance floor at fashion parties prove that fashion doesn't have to be too serious. Singh has found his perfect partner in Elle's style director, Kate Lanphear, whose colorful approach to fashion is black on black on black, topped off with a jagged splash of platinum hair. Lanphear is one smiley, happy style girl who breaks the rule of uptight, stone-faced fashion editors. Seeing Lanphear emerge from a fashion show in Paris to be swarmed by hordes of Japanese photographers is a sight to behold. "People line up to get her autograph in Japan," says Elle editor-in-chief Roberta Myers. It's a lot of work being the It Kids of fashion.
