I feel like she doesn't care about how she looks anymore/ she doesn't seem to put much effort into looking pretty, keeping fit ...it seems to be almost a trend right now.
Not caring about outfits/hair/looks in front of the paparazzis ends up landing bigger roles and jobs for actors and they seem to be respected more in the industry.Is it just me? Take Sienna Miller, who now sports scruffy looks and messy hair , she is (only now) starting to be considered a good actress. Remember when she was a style icon and used to dress for pics ? nobody took her seriously, nobody took her into consideration for her acting back then.

like its cool for actors now to be sloppy. the sloppier the better. the sloppier the cooler.

I have to respectfully disagree, I'm afraid, on both counts. I feel like Kate has always had a quirky, down-to-earth candid style and I don't really find her latest outfits to be sloppy at all. I mean, imo, she's wearing two likely very expensive, well-cut jackets in the last few candids, so...

Also, there are plenty of critically acclaimed actresses who are also widely thought of as 'stylish' and not 'sloppy.' Kate's own sister Rooney, Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightley (I personally think she's not that great of an actress, but critics disagree), Elle Fanning, the list goes on. And on that note, I don't really think Sienna's getting that much acclaim at the moment? I could be wrong on that, but as far as I remember, she wasn't taken seriously because her 'original' claim to fame was as a more famous actor's girlfriend and she continued to be more popular for who she was dating than her work (and she has gotten praise in the past for films like Factory Girl and The Girl).
