She certainly looked gorgeous with darker hair. I am hoping she takes the plunge to the dark side.

Its a [FONT=&quot]cliché[/FONT] but so grounded in fact- with out a doubt she was 'the face of the 90's'. She represents the whole reaction away from 80's excess towards 90's minimalism & neutral (bland?) good taste. Everyone what to be like her but no one really can close

I don't think that means she wasn't stylish in the 90's.
What she wore then created fashion trends and women always wanted to dress like her.

^yeah, it was a different time and her style influenced the trends then but for some of us who are a lot younger than Kate we may look back at 90's fashion and think "huh?!"

I remember Erin O'Connor writing [in her blog] recently that when she was a teen she had to save up her money to buy some adidas gazelle trainers because Kate had a pair.

You are wrong, they were not horrible at the time, the way she dressed is the way everyone wanted to dress, she was a trend setter.
I LOVED her style back then, she was so so fresh, so not 80s.

I've been furious with myself for throwing to the garbage an Elle Portugal from those times that had an interview with her, the pics were so so cool.
