* no need to translate, sincerely !

it starts by 4'10 min.

He says that Kate Moss, is a new path for him, into studying narration (storytelling) into media.
If you wanna know more about what he says, his research process, his conclusion etc.
ask.

Since, it's written by C. Salmon (his Storytelling was translated in 7 foreign languages - it's about publicity, politics, media, narration, lifetelling etc.), I think this MIGHT be translated into english, at least.

His main argument about Kate Moss (at least, the one we read everywhere) is :
Because of her body, Kate Moss is a new image in the sens she can be anyone (to be understood : trash, glam, tomboy, kid, woman etc.), she is a new "body", a new "character".
* posthuman theory, probably.

THIS IS NOT A BIOGRAPHY ....... And is general (not that much about Kate Moss ... More a general system, with Kate as the best type).

He is pretty attached to the French Theory (but critical about it, too). He thinks this period is the one who sees "the end of narration" (he calls it : "l'impasse de la narration") ...

He comes back til The Face ...
and deals with the narration in fashion photography and styling, on the "marges".
"A guerilla anti-fashion" ...

(...)

He goes back til the Westwood period (punk). And says that there's an "underground" part which is strong in UK.

He tells about "neorealism" in fashion photography from the 90s ...
"Corinne Day used to say she prefer to shoot the girls in their room, smoking joint and driking wine than on a runway".

He says the US (fashion) press take those people away from UK to "polished" them in the fashion industry ("The British Invasion" ... Blair in 1997), for economics reasons.
In Fashion, "The New Laboour" would be : Galliano, McQueen etc. in Fashion ...

(the itwer is pretty smart and says he pretty disagree ... they talk abt politics ! about : no cultural support for artist / "the desert" ... Matt Collishaw, richard billingham - UK contemporary art/photography scene - influenced fashion photography - Corinne Day, Juergen Teller.) In the end, the itwer says that the thing is not necessary "there" (politics and mass culture), but can be found in the "contemporary art scene".

"Ensemble cosmético-industrielle" (underground culture in the 90s).

They come back to politics ..............
Neoliberalism (names, names, names)
A Mythology of the NeoLiberalism in UK and the construction of its character. He may be "flexible". He has to perform/fight to be appreciated.

END.

I didn't post ed in this thread because maybe it was already scanned in her previous threads so after clicking links you can see them :flower:

Thanks for posting tarsha, I really loved the second lot of photographs, some of those are beautiful, and the one I'd consider iconic.
