It's not like Kate Moss to miss one of the biggest events in the fashion industry calendar.
While most of her contemporaries are living it up in New York for Fashion Week, the supermodel decided to have a quiet holiday on the slopes instead.
But since the tragic and untimely death of designer and her good friend Alexander McQueen last week, maybe the trip to the Big Apple would have just proved far too painful for her.
While her supermodel peers Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen were paying tribute to McQueen in Manhattan, Moss was enjoying a half-term skiing break with her seven-year-old daughter Lila Grace in France.
The 36-year-old model easily blended into the chic ski set with her fur-trimmed jacket and matching salopettes and furry hat.
After enjoying some time on the slopes with her daughter, Moss joined boyfriend Jamie Hince and a friend for some apres ski in an outdoor table.
Moss looked in good spirits as she chowed down on some lunch and drank Evian water.
She shared a joke with friends while she puffed on a cigarette before taking to the slopes once more.
It was good to see the model in a relaxed mood after a devastating week in which McQueen was found dead at his London home after committing suicide.
Kate was left stunned when she heard the news, but was too distraught to speak and instead issued a statement through her agent.
Referring to the designer by his real first name Lee, it read: 'Kate is shocked and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee McQueen. Her thoughts are with his family at this sad time.'
While Moss had a close friendship with tragic McQueen, her relationship with American designer Calvin Klein wasn't quite so good.
He admitted in a recent interview the model was 'difficult' to work with during her famous 1992 ad with Mark Wahlberg.
Klein said: 'It didn’t go too well. She didn’t like him at all. He was a pleasure.
'I have worked with so many women, great ones, and Kate was always difficult.'

She looks so fabulous and chic in that skiing outfit! And happy 
best friends, best friends ... I think we should 'relativa' (not sure about this word..) ... they just do not see each other regularly ... I think he was rather a good work colleague, even though she loved him, she may well laugh with her friends in his spare time!
