Kate Moss in tears as Sir Philip Green bids £100,000 for her Alexander McQueen dress at charity catwalk show
on 19th February 2010

It was a night of triumph and tears for Kate Moss as she attended the Fashion For Relief Haiti charity show at London's Somerset House yesterday.
The 36-year-old delighted the star-studded crowd as she stormed the catwalk in a dress from the late Alexander McQueen's last collection.
Kate, who is still reeling from the tragic death of the 40-year-old fashion designer, managed a brave face as she proudly strutted down the runway in the print mini-dress from his Spring/Summer 2010 range.

Emotionally charged: Kate Moss, with Sir Philip Green (left), is comforted by Annabelle Neilson as her Alexander McQueen dress went up for auction

But her emotions proved too much as she later watched the design go under the hammer to raise money for disaster-struck Haiti.
As Topshop boss Sir Philip Green put in the final bid of £100,000, she broke down in tears and had to be comforted by fellow model and fellow McQueen muse, Annabelle Neilson.
Kate counted McQueen as one of her closest friends and was left shaken by the news of his apparent suicide.

McQueen's muses: Kate and Annabelle both counted the designer as a
close friend

He was found dead at his £2million flat in Mayfair last Thursday, on the eve of his beloved mother's funeral.
A spokesperson for the supermodel said last week: 'Kate is shocked and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee McQueen. Her thoughts are with his family at this sad time.'
A who's who of fashion and celebrity turned out for the fundraiser, which was organised by Naomi Campbell.

Splashing the cash: Topshop's Sir Philip Green put in the final bid of £100,000 for the McQueen design which was earlier modelled by his close friend and business associate Kate :mowhawk:

The event raked in over £1million, with more likely to flow in from an ongoing online auction.
Pregnant Denise Van Outen, Geri Halliwell, Girls Aloud singers Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Dame Shirley Bassey and even Sarah Brown attended the occasion.
Alexandra Burke, David Walliams, James Corden, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan also turned out to support the event.

Sweet charity: Kate on the catwalk with Annabelle and event organiser Naomi Campbell

Campbell said it was a cause dear to her heart, adding: 'I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti.
'So many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake - women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters.
'Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone.'
The London show comes days after Campbell hosted a similar event in New York to kick off New York Fashion Week.

Oh my! Kate back on the catwalk..now that's just too amazing!!:woot::wub:
She looks gorgeous as always, must have been a very emotional experience for her to return to the runway as well as the loss of the Great McQueen:(

Fierce McQueen dress!

She is in the front row at Hakaan!

You only had to look at the front row of Turkish-born Hakaan’s show to know this was today’s star turn. Kate Moss (in a black leather cap and Balmain), Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle looked on as big-name models Natalia Vodianova, Anja Rubik, Mariacarla Boscono and Lara Stone took to the catwalk (watched by a sweetly grinning and lip-licking David Walliams). The collection included sexy body-con, multi-slashed minidresses, elegant fur and cashmere gilets, and gargantuan swing coats, all in grey, indigo, nude, white and black. Bound to be red-carpet favourites were the ostrich-feather cocktail dress and skirt. Hakaan, whose best friend is photographer Mert (Mert & Marcus), had pulled together a dream team – Edward Enninful styling, casting by Sarah Murray, music by Frederick Sanchez and Relative Mo doing the publicity. You heard it hear first. Expect a lot of buzz.
