Kate Moss - posting requires reading thread rules, see post #1

The first I don't I think we have seen...I forgot she had short hair!

She's graced the cover of over 300 magazines including British Vogue a staggering 30 times.
But now Kate Moss has become a different kind of cover girl after posing for the front of Bryan Ferry's new album Olympia.
The cover and inside photographs, shot at London's Sunbeam Studios, show the 36-year-old model reclining seductively on a bed, wearing only a diamond necklace and bright red lipstick while maintaining her modesty with a bedsheet.

And Ferry was delighted with the finished shots, which were inspired by Édouard Manet's painting Olympia.
He said: 'I normally use unknown women – it’s nice to discover girls for that kind of thing. But this time I thought it would be a good idea to ask Kate, because she’s a great femme fatale of our era.
'And it turns out she was delighted to do it, she was a big fan of the music, and it worked out fantastically.

No expense spared: Ferry said Moss was the perfect cover choice as she is the 'femme fatale' of our era

'One of the inspirations for it is the painting that’s called Olympia, painted by Manet in the 19th century, and it’s a picture I’ve always been very fond of.
'It was kind of an early pin-up, really, of this beautiful woman lying on a bed; it’s an early prototype for the Roxy covers, if you like.'
And Ferry admitted there was no expense spared on the shoot, as they wanted to ensure the finished pictures were perfect.
He said: 'The designer, Gideon Ponte, built a fantastic set with the finest linen and the perfect bed.
'Shoes and dresses were flown in from Paris, jewellery escorted by security guards, flowers were everywhere and we had a supporting cast of thousands.’
During his time with Roxy Music, Ferry and the band were famous for their controversial album covers, which mostly featured women in provocative poses, wearing very little.
One of the album covers, for the record Siren in 1975, even featured Jerry Hall, who Ferry went on to propose to.
The pair were engaged until Hall met Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
Olympia is Ferry's first album since 2007's Dylanesque and features contributions from his former Roxy Music bandmate Brian Eno.
But despite this, Ferry said he doesn't forsee a Roxy Music reunion happening in the future.
He explained recently: 'I don't think we'll record as Roxy again.
'We went into the studio after the 2001 reunion. We fiddled around a bit, but then I went off to make another solo record.
'But it would be great to do some more Roxy Music concerts, although I don't think Eno will be involved.
'He hasn't been part of the band since 1973, but he and I work together in other capacities.
'As you get older, life becomes busier, but there are still so many possibilities.
'I'm trying to be as productive as I can. It's been great to get some of my focus back.'

That image caused so much controversy at the time but personally I always found it a very beautiful and powerful image. I think a lot of people saw it as "racist" because they wanted to see it as such and have completely missed the point that Nick and the Indy were trying to make by choosing a famous white model.

Kate Moss leaves the BBC Maida Vale studios, after celebrating Annie Nightingale's 40 years on the radio station with a party. Kate appeared rather worse for wear, and had to be held up by a group of friends.. London, England - 09.09.10.

^ Poor Kate, why does she continually have to go out in public and act like that... :(

While I won't deny that she is probably tipsy I think the many people with cameras in her face and flashes going off has a good deal to do with her looking like she is struggling to get to her car.

Agreed. I don't think she's that wasted. I think her friends are just trying to help her get through all the paps.
