*Vogue.co.ukMARC JACOBS' Louis Vuitton models were glued into their spring/summer 2012 shoes using wig glue, long-time friend and show stylist Katie Grand has revealed.
The Love magazine editor-in-chief has given away several behind-the-scenes secrets: including that Jacobs played the soundtrack for Hello, Dolly! in the days leading up to the show to keep team spirits up - and that he sang show tunes on a specially installed karaoke machine in the studio throughout the fittings.
"There's so much frenetic energy," Grand told the Sunday Times of the night before the show. "Uma [Thurman] sits there in Chanel Couture, pretending to sell shoes on The Shopping Channel on the karaoke microphone. She's saying: 'A lovely crocodile shoe here and it's backless'. The Hello Dolly! soundtrack is on and there are 20 girls waiting for us to fit them. When Uma left, Kate Moss turned up and was wheeled in on the delivery trolley. It was surreal."
*Dailymail.co.ukHer birthday festivities are the stuff of legend. But it looks as if* notoriously hardcore party princess Kate Moss has finally toned things down.
The supermodel looked uncharacteristically modest as she celebrated her 38th birthday at two London restaurants last night.
For her second meal out at favourite restaurant China Tang at The Dorchester, Kate had only invited husband Jamie Hince and close friend, designer Stella McCartney.
Earlier on Monday, she had enjoyed a late lunch at Japanese restaurant UMU in Mayfair, before popping home for a quick costume change.
Although opting for a little black dress for her evening meal, she had earlier been in an understated ensemble of grey trousers, pumps, and a furry coat.
There was a quiet tone to the warm-up earlier in the day, with bunches of flowers arriving at Kate's London home from well-wishing friends.
Kate's previous celebrations earned her a reputation due to her hedonistic approach to revelry.
A precedent was set with her drug-fuelled 21st, organised by then boyfriend Johnny Depp at his infamous LA club Viper Room.
Kate's 30th birthday followed a Beautiful And Damned theme, recreating the debauched world inhabited by the fast-living but ultimately doomed characters of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel.
Her 34th birthday was deemed something of a disappointment, after a planned 34 hour celebration was cut short as Kate gave in to fatigue after a mere 18 hours.
In fairness, her relationship with guitarist Hince was on somewhat rocky ground at the time after rows over her party lifestyle.
Council officials were called out to the property in St John's Wood to control the noise levels at Kate's medieval-themed 35th bash, where she kicked off a four-day marathon of excess with a private performance from Lionel Richie.
Things appeared to be taking a turn for the tamer last year however, when Kate celebrated her 37th birthday in a more modest fashion with a trip to the pub and cinema.
She was joined by a group of friends at the real-ale friendly, music-free Uxbridge Arms pub in Notting Hill.
The gang sat around a cosy open fire, before heading around the corner to The Gate cinema to see the Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning The King's Speech.
The supermodel couldn't resist a little star flourish however, and she and Jamie also enjoyed a romantic mini-break to Paris to mark the occasion.
Perhaps now that the pair are happily married, Kate had decided to renounce her wild ways once and for all.
