Here is the back story behind that dress, from 'Kate Moss Style' by Angela Buttolph.

Jeffrey Patty owner of New York Vintage Store Southpaw gave Kate the Dress for her Birthday. It's by a 1950's American Designer Ceil Chapman. We didn't realise but Kate ended up Wearing it to meet the Queen. And the Queen was Wearing exactly the same colour. - Farah Pidgeon, Southpaw Vintage, New York.

But in 1997, the pair crossed paths at Christie's in New York. I love Kate Moss and I love Derek Lam, and I love that Kate loves Derek, too. Okay enough gushing but I’m really excited to see Kate carrying Derek’s Elsa clutch in gray python.
