^They aren't Balmain, there are significant details that confirm that including the fabric on the Balmain pair which are Suede and Kate's look like some sort of cotton/satin mix that they aren't.

^I think we disregarded that option as well. The Chloe pants have pleats at the hips - Kates do not.
