Sadie's Crack Down
22 June 2005
Frost bans druggie Pete from 40th
WHEN it came to celebrating her 40th birthday Sadie Frost wasn't
taking any chances on anyone ruining her big night.
The actress-turned-fashion designer banned best pal Kate Moss's
druggie boyfriend Pete Doherty from attending her lavish Bugsy
Malone-themed bash because she was scared he'd spoil the
festivities.
As a result, grumpy Kate arrived on her own and spent most of the
night at the Belsize Tavern in North London sitting in a corner with
a female mate. And that wasn't the only thing that put a downer on
the supermodel's night.

She was also fuming when she discovered that Lisa Moorish, Pete's
old flame and mother of his son, was at the party.
An insider tells us: "Sadie and Kate are the best of friends but
Sadie was just very wary in case Pete's druggie antics spoiled the
night. After all, just the other day he was thrown off a yacht for
smoking crack.
"She's all for everyone having a good time, but some people just go
too far.
"And Kate was also cross with Sadie because she'd asked her not to
invite her enemy, Lisa."
But Sadie told Kate she couldn't start dropping her friends like
that.
"Kate then fumed, 'I don't want to be anywhere near that woman!'"
Catwalk queen Kate, 31, wasn't the only person with a long face at
the party.
Sadie's toyboy Jackson Scott was upset when he discovered that
Davinia Taylor had bought Sadie a £150,000 jewel encrusted bracelet
for her birthday.
Our source says: "It was a rainbow of precious jewels, including
diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and tanzanite stones.
"Sadie was over the moon - but Jackson felt his own present would
never match up to that.
"Still, he sang a couple of songs from Bugsy Malone while Sadie sat
next to him dressed as Jodie Foster's character Tallulah and gazed
lovingly at him."
And if that didn't cheer Kate up, Little Britain's David Walliams
was on hand to keep the jokes coming.
No expense was spared for the party where there was a bottle of
champagne on every table, splurge guns that sounded like machine
guns and a bouquet of white lilies draped with pearls. The £300 cake
was shaped like a black and white hat and decorated with sparklers.
Sadie wore a £1,500 white mother of pearl dress.
Yesterday a spokesperson for Sadie said: "No one was barred from the
party." Could have fooled us ...
