I considered buying a pair in NY years ago though didn't... never even seen them anywhere else here apart from on a website nor seen anybody wearing them. We are more awash with a sea of ballet flats.

I think this was actually filmed in her CLOSET at there country home!! I remember reading in one of those topshop-kate articles that she has a swing chair and sofas all in her closet and it became more of a hangout and etc.

Yeah... I think so, any ideas who the other voices are ?... sounds like certainly another female and male voice at the start and end of the recording....seems rather bizarre for somebody so private to allow such a strange video..... maybe the drink was vodka?

Ballet flats can hardly be considered a trend.
It´s been there forever, it´s the most ordinary (and lovely, imo) type of shoe I can think of.
