The skirt does not appear to be a sweat - ugh, and those shoes again.

she DESTROYED the belt... it was like the only think i liked on her for past few... welll... WEEKS:yuk:

Not a good outfit at all, but Kate never looks really bad. That amazes me. Really! :ninja:

Nothing wrong with Minnetonkas per se, but it's not, IMO, a shoe that... goes with everything. Has Kate ever worn flip flops? Did she sit that trend out?

^ I have only ever seen her in flip flops once...
She wore them with a short skirt to some rest. in London years ago...late 90's I think.

I like the long skirts actually! on someone like Kate who can pull it off. Ahsley Olsen wore one like the black one a couple of weeks ago and I thought she looked really nice as well. :)

I've seen Kate wearing two long skirts/dresses. does this mean that is what we'll all wear next month??

I actually like the grey one. Is it a dress or skirt and a top? they way she wears it with black boots doesn't attract me, but I do like the rest of the outfit.
any thoughts?

I don't particularly like her two outfits but I must say it is very 'Kate' to dress like that in LA - extremely NOT put-together. In NY she's more dressy, more polished, hair pulled back a lot and in London, she's very much her own rock-chic-effortless hippy mix. I like that about Kate, she always look just 'right', seemingly without much thought to it all.

I like the grey top but long skirts wil never be attractive to me. Ever. I don't get them at all.

Am I the only one who kind of likes her "LA style"? I noticed a few long skirts in her Topshop collection, so I assume she's promoting the look, they could even be from her own line as someone has already said.

I like that she's doing something different, moving away from skinny jeans, and disagree that she's looking slobby - she's still accessorising superbly, and that little black playsuit she is wearing where she is staying is cute.

Besides, she may also want to look a bit more low-key to avoid photographers, they must be around every corner in LA... Which isn't to say it's working... :(

I think clothes are for enjoying and feeling good in... most people don't feel their best in slob out clothes... and Kate's not looking her most vibrant in these pics to say the least. Somebody with such often great personal style must be aware of this too.... it doesn't all tie in right....seems contrived somehow. It would be nice to see a more refreshing look, something inspiring, a new take on something classic with a touch of brilliance.....just something clean and bright, something radiant.

I have no problem with the L.A. clothes. Particullary after someone pointed out that she was probably only wearing Minnetonka's because of her foot. It's nice to see her with her legs covered after all the minidresses and short shorts. It makes me want to try on a long skirt to see if it would work for me.

But MY FAVORITE THING about the L.A. pics is the fact that she went shopping at James Perse. I love his stuff. I live in his dresses. I've always wanted to go to his L.A. store, but alas I have to be content with the stuff of his that they sell in department stores here in Chicago.

I  long skirts, especially those which deviate from the peasant styles that dominated the boho trend. So no, you're not alone in finding her very un-L.A. "L.A." style alright, at least from waistband to hemline. (Un-L.A. by nature, not by influence?)

I don't mind the outfit with the long skirt and i really like the black playsuit. I haven't found Kates outfits amazingly inspirational recently, but i think she still looks amazing
