Michael Jackson shoe sells out
Repetto reports a surge in sales on their Michael Jackson shoe.
Michael Jackson's most iconic fashion contribution may have been the sequinned glove, but following his death his influence on all things sartorial is taking hold like never before. Dance shoe manufacturer Repetto has reported that their Jackson slip-on, named after the King of Pop, is selling out. A waiting list has been set up in the flagship Paris store and the factories have been ordered to increase production.
Launched last season, a pair of the patent loafers cost £150 and come in either white, navy, grey or black patent.
Jean- Marc Gaucher, Repetto CEO, said, "We designed the Jackson as a tribute to Michael Jackson and are delighted at the style's popularity. They are manufactured in the same way as the Repetto ballet pointe shoes with the stitch and return process, making them extra soft and comfortable, not to mention suitable for the moonwalk and any other of Jackson's iconic moves!"
