But its kind of ironic that because she goes to great lengths to hide her daughter from the press she then gets accused of being a bad mother because they dont see them together.

It is for legal reasons, but not because of the reason you stated, its for the fact alot of Magazines/Newspapers/Media Websites won't purchase pictures with celebrity children in them, because its against the law for the paparazzi to take pictures of celebrity children without the permission of the famous parent, unless they are above a certain age.
so the picture's can still be sold to various sources i listed above they blank out the child's face so the pictures can still be sold.

there was a documentary about it, which is available on youtube, and various photographers talked about that issue, it's called Paparazzi Documentary Next generation and its in 7 parts.
