^I think they use two pages per picture on purpose so we can't scan the picture, print it and frame it and love it...

A lot of them can be found online in superb qualities.

But I don't think they do it on purpose in all honesty, I think it's a case of page layouts, they vary widely throughout the book, but since the shots are double pages when they were originally published wouldn't it be stupid not to publish them in the book as they were originally intended?
