Kates Walsh dishes on sexy Grey's Anatomy costar Patrick Dempsey
Kate Walsh cant deny it: Patrick Dempsey is every bit as irresistible as his TV character, Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd.
"He really is dreamy," Kate, who plays Derek's estranged wife, Addison, tells Inside TV. "I'd like to say, 'Yeah, whatever', but he's just got those beautiful eyes and he's super funny. And very charming. I didn't meet him until we were doing our first scene together, I walked onto the set wearing 4-inch heels and the first thing he said to me was 'I hope you can walk in those!' I was like, 'Well, hello; let the games begin.' We have a great time."
Not that Patrick's real-life wife has reason to worry: Kate, 38, is very happy with her boyfriend, venture capitalist John Dennis, 43.
"He's a friend of my brother's; I had a big crush on him when I was 10 and he was 15," she says. "But he was the cute football player, and I had glasses and this really bad Dorothy Hammill haircut. About a year ago, my brother told me John wanted to know if I'dgive his teenage daughter some tips about becoming an actress. He decided to take me to dinner We've been together ever since." Kate, who's never been married, admits she'd love to have a baby, if "thats in the cards".
Keen-eyed fans might recognize her last TV role: Drew Carey's girlfriend Nicki on The Drew Carey Show, though she wore a fat suit for the part.
"Not many people knew it was padding," adds Kate, who keeps in shape, but refuses to buy into Hollywood's skinny obsession-especially since she battled bulimia at 20, while modeling in college.
"Lucklily, I realized I had a problem and got into therapy, so it was short-lived. I'm a normal looking woman, and I think that's good for women to see."
