Watch where you're going.

RE: Dirty feet...
This is a reason to bathe at the end of the day.

RE: Too many germs...
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. (I have no allergies and very rarely get sick. I have no disinfecting products in my household, only soap and windex i.e. glass cleaner. Correlation is not causation, of course.)

RE: Kids with clean hands miss fewer days of school than kids with dirty hands...
Perhaps because their hyper-vigilent upper middle class mothers who are willing to spend lots of $$ on products that do the same thing as soap and hot water can also afford good medical care? Or they're paranoid that their precious sweetie will be at a disadvantage in the college acceptance race if he misses too many days in the third grade?

RE: Dirtier in America...
How many places in America have you visited?

Today there was a terrible rainstorm at noon, and as I walked back to work I got soaked, including my wonderful sandals:angry:... I stayed barefoot at work for the rest of the day, and then I walked home barefoot. I'm still barefoot, and when I go to hang out with my neighbor in the garden tonight, I'm not putting on shoes.

And yes, I live in a city, albeit a small one.

Glad you cleared that up! Now, to the meat of the debate: whose poetry would you rather hear Keira Knightley recite while barefoot, T.S. Eliot or W.H. Auden's? I reiterate: Keira Knightley, while barefoot, "The Wasteland" or "The Age of Anxiety"? Feel free to PM me if your answer veers dangerously off-course!;)

im going to throw rusty nails/glass bottles around sidewalks now.

for fun. hahahaha.

True story: When I was in the military, during basic training, they old us practically every day: wash your hands, wash your hands, always wash your hands when they're dirty. If you don't, you'll get sick.
Of course, I washed my hands after using the restroom but besides that, I just washed when I had time (which was rare).
And what do ya know-- I got sick. A LOT.
Once I started washing my hands regularily (even if they were just slightly dusty) I stopped getting sick.

Obviously, washing every five minutes is a bit too obsessed. But I think clean hands have their advantages ;)

Doesn't sound very scientific to me I'm afraid...

They're finding that children have no defences against germs anymore because paranoid housewives are using so many products and not exposing their children to regular play.

When im drunk and cant walk in heels i find its far safer to take off the shoes and go it bare...maybe she has heels on and stuffed them in that bag...or maybe she just couldnt care less...go keira. her feet her business!

 Damn! She has nice feet. I mean her arches/instep. Check out that pic again (I won't repost of course). I am in love with high arches. If her feet are dirty she can wash them. But you can't make a flat foot curved.

eta: on second look they aren't the best arches I've seen by far but I love how high up her right foot is in the second pic. :bounce: It's not a fetish I swear! I'm just an ex-dancer.

^Oh, yeah, dirty little high-arched celebrity feet. I'm not a fetishist, either! Well, I am, we all are, we just don't pay enough attention to notice. Come on, all you fashion whores, you know it! It's just we fetishize our own body parts and are jealous of others'. We cinch, we boost, we minimize, we embellish, and we compare our bits with our famous Perky Pat scrapbook dolls.

If we were aware of a small percentage of the cues of desire framed around our lives...finish that thought yourself. I get too political.;)
