Kelly Mittendorf

It was sad to not see her at Prada but lets be honest, Milan isn't her kind of city anyway. Milan likes super sexy girls and super "clean"/masculine looking girls. Kelly isn't for everyone and that tends to be Milan shows.

I think she would do well in Paris though, lets hope :innocent:

When it comes to Prada, the casting was and is always based heavily on the collection itself. There are women like Mariacarla Boscono and Kinga Rajzak and maybe even Daphne Groeneveld at this point who get booked time and time again because they're adaptable to many of Miuccia's inspirations, but this past collection was about conventional "womanhood" with a twist, and Kelly really doesn't fit the bill. Prada cast her in the first place upon the bases of a collection rooted in perversified girlishness, a match to Kelly's look (I think)--but as Prada's aesthetic changes so must its casting. I would not have expected her to book the show, seeing the direction it took. In my opinion, she has fantastic chances for something at Miu Miu (which is rooted in the girlishness Kelly brings), and perhaps some other Paris shows with forward-thinking casting--maybe Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Moncler, Gaultier, Margiela, or even Alexander McQueen. Of course, she'd be perfect for many of the Japanese designers like Yohji or Comme des Garcons, but those aren't really prestige bookings anymore.

Well guess I take back what I said, looks like she is doing Paris after all. Can't wait to see what she shows up at!

^ You can still have a showcard and end up not doing shows. But I hope she shows up somewhere...

i'm constantly confused by her career thus far; she was the talk of new york fashion before it even began, went to castings (correct?) and then randomly showed up at anna sui, then closed marc jacobs.

i'm confused as to why she walked anna sui, imo it would of made a much bigger impact (and would of lived up to her nyfw buzz) if she just closed marc jacobs, therefore closing nyfw. and if she was at anna sui and therefore not a marc jacobs "exclusive", why wasn't she at marc by marc?

she skipped milan? i assumed that she would've been a prada exclusive, but after seeing her at marc i at least assumed she'd either open (or at least be look 2?) at prada.

we know she's in paris doing castings, but wouldn't showing up at a less prestigious (in terms of model casting) show like V&R in a way damage her "it" factor? she should at least be a miu miu exclusive, wouldn't you think? or perhaps miucca has passed her over to marc and kelly will open vuitton (but i highly doubt)

On her blog she said she was sick and that was why she missed Milan. I think that-thing-we-can't-talk-about is still definitely making things a bit abnormal as to the number of she was expected to walk.

I'm more and more confused about what it takes to be a super model. It used to be beauty.... Then it was the odd alien looking girls, but still beautiful.... Now I'm really not sure. I need to be reeducated I think. Kelly looks like a sweet girl, strong face I guess. Great body.... Not sure....yes, she is a girl that you notice. A bit confused.

Don't really remember the models from the 80s but I don' t agree that the 90s girls all looked alike:) it seems that the beautiful girls last.....Lara stone, Natasha poly, Giselle , so many more.
