Kerastase

well, i apologize for using the wrong term even though it's clear you understood what i was asking.

marchessa - thanks for the suggestion. the stylist thought it would be good for my hair, but we didn't really get into which one and i knew there were a few to choose from, but there are even more than i thought! at $50, i'd like to make a somewhat educated decision.
have you checked out the Kerastase ratings on makeupalley.com? if it's coming down to which masque/conditioner (some people do use them as conditioners) to buy, there are detailed reviews on there to help you decide. I would look at the Masque Oleo-Relax if you have thick hair.

^Well...you can't always trust makeupalley. A lot of people have no idea what they're buying or how to use it, so I'd read the individual reviews rather than decide from the ratings.

I agree. you should pay attention to exactly how people describe their own hair, how they used the product and the reasons why they were or were not satisfied, because sometimes it's obvious that there were misplaced expectations or incorrect technique involved. most people include this in their reviews. that website has saved me so much time, tears and $$$

are people using clarifying shampoos with this stuff? I've been shampooing every other day and I want to do the masqueintense again, but I'm wondering if this wouldn't be a good time to use a clarifying shampoo as well. I think my hair might be getting slightly flat? it could be my imagination. I don't want to strip my hair after making so much effort not to over-shampoo.

i agree with you guys when talking about the ratings on MUA. a lot of people don't know what they're doing, or haven't tried many products, etc.

i'm kind of thinking the oleo-relax creme, but that seems rather pricey to use every day. i might get it and see how long it lasts me, but i wanted to do something that would improve my hair overall...which i've never gotten from a styling product. i think trying a masque is my safest bet and then buying the shampoo/conditioner if i like what the masque did. i don't always wear my hair curly though...but i doubt that makes a difference when choosing a masque.

i want stronger hair basically. my hair is quite healthy, and very long, but i feel it isn't as strong as it used to be...

I have a Q, how do u guys apply your shampoo? i dont think i apply it correctly..

I just bought Nectar Thermique to use as a heat protectant and I must say I'm a absolutely loving it at the moment - seems to make my hair feel nicer than Ciment Thermqiue from their protein range.

I wash my hair twice... I wet my hair, and massage the shampoo into my scalp. At this point it doesn't lather, and I use a very small amount. Then I wash it again with a little more shampoo, and I get a very nice lather. I massage it into my scalp and then the lengths and make sure not to miss any spots. I let it sit for 2 minutes, apply a bit of water and massage a bit again. And then I rinse. That's how my hair stylist does it, and that's how Kerastase recommends shampooing.

Has anybody tried Bain Divalent shampoo?

I have greasy roots and quite dry ends and am thinking of trying this.

I started using Kerastase products around two weeks ago, based on the advice from my hairstylist, and i am absolutely in love with them!

I can't believe i've been missing out on these products for so long! They really have made my hair more healthy and much easier to manage. I am currently using Ciment Thermique from their Resistance range, and Luminere Nuti Sculpt from the Nutritive range. :)

I just bought the Kerastase Masquintense! Looking forward to try it out! FINALLY Kerastase is getting popular in taiwan. The mask cost about $43USD online - was I ripped off? It's sold for like $60 in the department stores and hair salons here...

^It's currently $34 on hqhair.com...but honestly, I don't think you were ripped off. Buying it @ hair salons is crazy IMO.

^Yeah, if I ordered from hqhair and included the shipping/tax it would probably end up costing as much as I got it for!

I was skeptical about the Masquintense at first, but after using it I was just ... My hair is so smooth!:wub: (Though I think a cheaper conditioner could easily do the same job too)

Has anyone tried Prevention GL shampoo? I saw an ad in Elle and thought it would be helpful:) but does it worth it??

Oh my god. I can finally brush my hair now! All thanks to the Ciment Thermique  I don't know how it does it, but it makes my hair much more tangle free. I just wish I didn't have to blow my hair so dry for it. I feel like my hair roots are ginseng roots. Maybe I need to get the Nocotogenist Serum Nuit...

^Do you really need to blow dry it completely dry to get any effect?

^Yes, I think! Or maybe I didn't use enough of the product. I used about a pea size because the reviewers on MUA said that was enough. Kerastase says you're supposed to use a "walnut" size though. (wtf, I don't think I've ever seen a walnut in my life)

^Walnuts are...a lot bigger than peas  I think you need to use a bit more, you do have a lot of hair :D I know exactly what you mean when you say your hair roots are like ginseng roots. My hair starts tangling up like crazy right already at the hair roots at the back of my neck

I remember my old hair stylist used the green Ciment Thermique, and the effect lasted for three days! And then it was back to normal...

^Omg. I just searched "how big is a walnut" and all the results say "about the size of a golf ball or baseball." I hope they're wrong... How many peas = a walnut? I feel pathetic asking this...

I hate my ginseng roots. I never brush my hair because when I do SO much hair drops out! Your hair doesn't look tangly at all though! Maybe your hair texture is more thin so it doesn't look bad at all :D

^It's more like a fairly small golf ball :D Those girls must have some pretty big peas

It's pin straight on the top...but it's a mess, really. Esp the lengths and the hair in the back  I don't brush my hair because I just don't bother...:D
