I didn't see a thread on him, and I always thought he was an amazing makeup artist, and I noticed a lot of people listed him in the "who's your favorite makeup artist thread?". It's really sad that he died so young. Here's some of his magazine covers...

he was a brilliant and amazing person who paved the way for many of today's makeup artists...

His last book, A Beautiful Life, was an amazing account of his life and career combined with beautiful photographs of his work.

I just wanted to say thank you to the nice things said about Kevyn Aucoin...he was my brother. I am Carla Aucoin Hoffkins. I do believe that he resting in peace with my mother. Kevyn gave his heart and soul to everyone he met, whether they were famous or not. One of our current employees is someone that Kevyn saved from a gay basher that is the kind of person he was till the end.

I remember a couple of years ago I had to get jaw surgery (incredibly painful) and my dad bought me Face Forward which really kept my spirits up. I'm in awe of his work and his compassion, simply incredible.

the other day i was watching sex and the city, and it was the one when carries a model and does the catwalk. even tho ive seen it a hundred times, i only notcied for the 1st time the other day that her make up artist is kevyn aucoin.

i thought that was kinda cool.
