Kevyn Aucoin - Makeup Artist

Plus I can't believe that is Martha S. made up as Veronica! She looks amazing.

And Carla, thank you for being here and I'm sorry about the loss, he seemed like such a great person in real life.

I bought yesterday the "MAking Faces" book and it´s really amazing in all aspects.

The pictures are great, the makeup schemes and techniques are really well explained, the makeup is totally amazing and what i also loved about the book is that it was made in a very personal way.

The comments are great and so passionate and true!
I loved the personal photos and the people he choosed. These people are people and it´s how we trully see the work of an artist, to bring out the beauty of a normal person is far more amazing than seeing only models. :)

It is so great to see someone that achieved success and that became a true artist without becoming some snob that doens´t share it´s knoledge or passion and that renegades it´s past.

I think that the people that are trully passionate about their work and life are so much more worthful than people who only expect to achieve something without beeing truthful to themselves and beeing dispiteful to others.

And that really shows, otherwise Kevyn wouldn´t be such a loved and fabulous artist with such an achievement in the world of makeup/fashion/beauty.

I would love to talk to him.
r.i.p.

I just got the Making Faces the other day (as an early Christmas present ;) ). The short little stories he provides alongside the tutorials and transformations of celebrities and ordinary people are too cute.

I guess I've always been facinated with lipstick because of its candy-like appearance. I remember climbing onto our bathroom counter and opening the medicine chest in search of my mom's orange lipstick. Since smells can be deceiving (her tube had a distinct floral scent), I naturally decided to have a bite.

He was an amazing artist. When I was just starting out doing make-up, I learned alot from him.

And his books are amazing.
