Khaite F/W 2025.26 New York

Wonder if the use of "I put a spell on you" for the leopard section of the collection was some sort of tribute/pun to Tom Ford's YSL leopard collection for S/S 2002 :D

It might be also a direct homage to Lost Highway.
Patricia Arquette wears leopard print in the movie (if I am correct, after she and Pete rob the guy and flee to the burning house in the desert).

The show was cool... but too dark! 😅 I will wait for the pictures.

^^^ It all reeks so effortlessly of late-90s old skool NY cool: Very Victor Alfaro, Narciso Rodriguez…

Leather has been her strength and she’s going from strength to strength. I can see her clientele collecting her leather offerings season after season. And the additional leopard prints and those (unfortunately faux) furs add to that strength. I’d imagine a stylish woman in her 30s/40s digging through her old Margiela’s Hermes and vintage Alaia to wear with all these sumptuous skins and leopard prints.

And beautiful runway installation resembling an eclipse. Her image is impressively strong and thankfully gimmick/trick-free. All the components culminate to what is so quintessentially NYC. Donna Karan and Norma Kamali would be proud.

from strength to strength sure...... for her brand !!!!

but i see still a contemporary brand where a runways show in regards of creativity and point of view totally not necessary

i see vaccarello ysl Mc Queen knits bit of row fantasy bit of givenchy by Mc Queen and riccardo TF X CR for sexy

it's a merchandising collection dressed up as a fashion show

i don't need to be impressed by my own playlist of music or big sets seen already seen last year

its a influencer brand

Fair enough. But no one is expecting her to be the next Miuccia LOL She’s of that classic American tradition of designers whom are clearly influenced by greater talents and interprets these inspirations in their very NYC clean, slick and nonfussy essence. Her separates are very solid, very mix-and-match, very versatile— and not an obnoxious logo/monogram/signature print in sight.

Visually, I can understand the Anthony comparison. But in terms of style proposal and breakdown of separates post-preseantaion, Anthony is nowhere close to her capabilities. Her wears can walk straight to the sales floor without a stitch of alteration. Anthony’s costumes need to be altered for the real world. But then again, he just relies on all the basics and logo’d/monogrammed/signatured merch to do the heavylifitng for the brand. And he’s got Kering money to snatch all the stars for the campaigns to convince the casual fashion fans he's "luxury".

(Just not seeing that current McQueen person's grubby little hands here. I see Alessandro Dell'Acqua in the knitwear and transparent polos.)

Yes! there was a model somewhere that looked like Esther Canadas.. reminiscent of the years when NYFW designers (Narciso, Donna Karan, even her DKNY shows) were more than okay with designing with a cosmopolitan, sophisticated, hustler women in mind and mastered so confidently that odd combination of sleek, sensual, conservative and practical that you see around the city. The current designers seem to design with a shaky hand and praying to god that whatever is shown in Paris 3 weeks later doesn't put them out of business. It's pathetic what Anna has created. Make NYFW sexy again!

Loved the first part of this collection.. that dress on Mona is indeed gorgeous but I wonder if it's just Mona who elevates it like that. The leather numbers are 🤤. As it progresses, I got reminded of why I'm never fully onboard with this label.. they really drop the ball with some cuts and want to be trendy at the expense of the overall result, how did they manage to make Lulu obese is beyond me but here we are, and those red pants are awful, and don't get me started on the last numbers that are weird collage of all things influencer.

The set and the music in particular.. gorgeous! 🖤🖤🖤.. the soundtrack is sooo Jun Takahashi.

^ I saw that dress at the end and kind of knew the answer. There's potential in it!.. but it really is Mona, the other model might need more weight or they just took longer with Mona during the fittings. If it's going to be that loose and awkward in the neckline, it better sits nicely on the hips.. the difference is like night and day for me, cheap vs. expensive.
