Kim Jones Men , S/S 06 , Paris .

i really like it. tho it would be hard to sell in moscow for example - you see even black branquihno bombers in silk are considered too much.

i'm not the one to listen to mr. deeney, for one thing he's too old to judge the collections meant for the younger, but one just can't help it - kim's styling is always very gay and i'm not sure it's too good for reaching a wider audience.
anyway i think kim is stronger than most menswear designers right now - passionate and sincere.

I totally agree with Bakla's comments. Doesn't work for me, but I love the van Gogh jeans! Chris?!

I LOVE his stuff...yes it is styled in a 'very gay' manner but it's also quite sexy and slightly laddy...I could see the straight muscle lad market opening up to the less avant-garde pieces...I think he's going to be HUGE in a few years...:D :D go Kim!

Overall the collection is kind of.............

But there are some pieces that I can see translating to the streets and be worn very well.

apparently, kim had a lot of issues with retailers for this collection, with a lot of them claiming that a great majority of the pieces were too 'gay' in the wordsof some retailers, and therefore potentially unsaleable. This is why he veered towards a far more 'contained' silhouette for next autumn/winter...

which for those of you that havent seen it, had some beautiful pieces in it ... as well as some show pieces that would still in actuality translate well for the retail market

Kim Jones' clothes narrowly escapes being very "International Male Catalog".

hmm.. It isn't that bad, is it?

I mean there are some wearable pieces.. couldn't the buyers just have bought those more "toned down" pieces, instead of the "gay" pieces? :ermm:

why is it everytime i try and post a thread the computer crashes.. lets try again...

with regardthe pieces themselves.. a lot of the basic tees had draped and slashed panels at the back and things like that which made them incredibly feminine.. and althouh somelone like hedi can get away with it because he s doing something sharper and has a femal fan base.. when you have a sportier silhouette like kim does.... it ends up having the same sort of feel as early 80's gaultier.. which was and still is fantastic.. but the climate just snt riht for it.. so its a matter of knowing how far to cross the line

Well that collection is rather old. I love Kim Jones! Will a lot of the printed tops and hoodies and shoes! And because it's really sportswear I can actually fit it! Yes! unlike Marc by Marc!

i think the thing about his collections is that alot of his stuff is very wearable so is practical in pieces. As for a whole KJ out fit, im not sure.
