KM*RII: A DIFFERENT KIND OF BAG
For those who don’t want another Marc Jacobs or Fendi bag, KM * Rii may be your thing. When two young Japanese travelers met each other in Mexico in 1997 they felt a click…. But when they met each other again in Sidney in 1999 they knew they were destined to continue their traveling together. During the trips of Lui Onozaki and Teruki Uchise the idea was born to create the brand KM* Rii and Bali’s idyllic Kuta was chosen as their location in 2000.
The KM * Rii collections clearly show the influences of their numerous travels around the world. The two designers concentrate on leather and ‘alive fabrics’ to create bags, multi-pocket belts and bracelets. All are executed in genuine leather, but also in Python or snakeskin… Some of their leather rings are even decorated with stones from the Himalaya and black tiger teeth from India. The Spring -Summer 2006 collection consists of extraordinary bags for both women and men with their well known details and pockets.
The international success of the brand and its rock star clientele (such as Tricky, Nina Hagen, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, DJ Tsuyoshi and Indochine) made them split their energy between Bali, Tokyo and Paris.

Somehow I can see this popping up in Vogue very soon.
