Lacoste Vs Ralph Lauren Polos

I am truly a Lacoste lover, I have a ton of polo's and find that they fit amazing... only problem I fid sometimes is that the sizes arent very consistant, sometimes my short sleeve polo's are a 3 and my long sleeve polo's are a 4...

Lacoste also out weighs polo's because they have a TON of amazing colours...

Oh and I love Lacoste because they have a cute kids section and it fits my dog..

RL~!!!!!!! love them! Ralph Lauren polos seem to fit me a lot better...plus I've noticed that RL's polos seem to sit higher on the neck, which I like!

BTW ::: my first post here B)

I found a pile of my Lacoste polos today, and think I need to change my mind. I was a little to anti-Lacoste. They do a cute, well fitting polo. I agree with what someone just said about the RLs being cut higher on the neck, which I also like. Anyway, I have found new apperication for my Lacostes, I'm wearing one tommorow, despite the fact that every prep and wannabe it-boy in my town is wearing them.

Aww! That's cute! a polo on a dog - usually I'm not a fan of dogs wearing clothes, but I keep getting an adorable mental image from it. :)

colouritis - Welcome! :)

A new Lacoste store recently opened in my nearby mall, and I plan on raiding the store as soon as I get money...

And of course, along with the RL polos...I love wearing polos with an Abercrombie mini and a pair of heels or wedge flip flops. :D

Lacoste, of course! I hate Ralph Lauren.

First, the fit is better.

Second, more colors to choose from.

Third, it's the original and will always be a classic. You shouldn't let wannabe "fashionistas" and their rising popularity throw you off.

Fourth, I think the little Alligator has much more character!

I agree with pineapple. The length of the skinny RL polos is the main difference I see. I have both. Lacoste is more trendy at the moment, but I do like the fit--a little more modern, while RL is a classic.

Polos are really popular here in florida and perfer them myself.

I have to say Lacoste, because I'm just use to them... plus, the RL Polos are WAY more a "trendy" item then Lacoste. But for now, I stick to other brands, which aren't THAT Omnipresent... Benetton for example, or Boss...

I hate them both to be honest. Too stuffy, East Coast country club in Massachusetts, drinking bloody marys and playing tennis..........but I vote Polo because that's what I wore when I was a kid.

I live in Massachusetts and have attended country clubs here for various occasions and I saw no Lacoste at all. It actually wasn't available in Massachusetts for the past 10 or so years until they recently opened a boutique in Boston. But hmmm it doesn't really strike me of being a Massachusetts thing but maybe that's just because I live here...

i'm from massachusetts too, and i think of it as a general north east preppy kind of thing...

Not everybody dresses like John Kerry  Poor guy hasn't stopped wearing his Harvard uniform. Luckily I think it works well for him but he apparently gets made fun of relentlessly by other Senators

hollys- actually, here people do dress like Kerry- it's the norm for the preppy guys. The super casual is a polo (usually RL for girls, Lacoste for guys) and some patagonia/north face shorts with sperry topsiders or sperry flipflops.

Eee neat.

I love the classic preppy look. Just not that common around here. Sure everyone wears polo shirts but not in the classic "Hello would you like to see my yacht?" kind of way. More in the "Wow don't I look trendy in my Hollister polo?" kind of way. And yes there is a difference...I just may not be explaining it right

its always hard to decide! i have and love both! its likee asking me if i like my daughter more thhan my son!

same here!

hollys- a lot of my guy friends that are uber preppy sail, play tennis, maybe football, they run... etc. A few own AE or A&F polos for "slumming" and getting dirty in... we actually don't have a hollister near here, but we have s.f. alman, ltd. it's a local store- and very very true prep- if you're a girl and you buy an outfit there, you come out head to toe in pink and green- i got this pink shirt with a white ruffle and a green bow, a pink and green lily skirt with a pink belt and pink heels that works with a lacoste, but rl polos are closer to that pink...

I didn't mean it to sound like I thought it was a Mass. thing, just that general idea of the northeast, Ivy League, yaghtsman, kinda image.

The ruling class in other words. Over here they wear polos, golf-jumpers and Oakley wrap-shades. Most of them are too thick/inbred to stop wearing their school/varsity navy blue blazer with brass buttons...
